Advantages Advantages Great quality, speed and price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not sure how durable it will be when tested

I have just recently started my degree, Architectural Technology, at Trent, and being a part photography based course I was told almost immediately that I'd need to purchase a digital camera capable of wide-angle, long-distance shooting, as well as close-up detailed shots prior to beginning. Now this task could have been nothing short of a nightmare considering the HUGE range of digital cameras now littering the market... It's swamped. The Panasonic range however, with its highly recommended LUMIX wide-angled, high-quality lens system appeared top of many of the 'best selling', 'most ... more

Advantages Advantages high quality photos and videos, many different features

Disadvantages Disadvantages fragile, requires a case

I was bought this as a gift to take on holiday with me. I have always been fond of photography and art and have always wanted a good quality camera. My first view of the camera was very good. It was elegant and very slim, so I could put it in my handbag and take it pretty much anywhere. I was extremely pleased with my present and immediately started to learn all of the different features of it, and how to use it well. It was pretty and basica and came with an easy to read manual, so getting to know it was easy. It has 12 mega pixels and a very sufficient zoom, which works really well. I was ... more

Advantages Advantages Small robust and compact

Disadvantages Disadvantages Zoom function leaves a lot to be desired

Although this was not my first time camara it was a replacement for one that i broke on holiday. I have found this camera on the whole very useful, especially for travelling or on nights out when i have not had a great deal of space. The best thing about this camera is that you do not have to compromise on the picture quality because of the size as you have to with many of its other competitors. The quality is high and obviously any minor imperfections can be touched up at home on a pc. The main problem that i have found with this camera is that the zoom function leaves a lot to be desired ... more

Advantages Advantages the lens, large digital display, automatic settings and quality of photos it produces

Disadvantages Disadvantages Taking photos using the manual settings and changing the exposure etc. drains the battery quickly.

This model of the lumix range was my first ever venture in to digital photography. I have had the camera now for over a year and have taken it on many different holidays. I can safely say that it has endured the nights out and also allowed me to take stunning pictures of wildlife, landscapes and architecture. The Leica lens is really good and Panasonic's automatic settings are probably the best. The zoom of the camera is just enough stretching up to 3.8x though without a tripod the photos are normally slightly blurry at this range. The large digital display on the camera makes it easy to ... more

    What's the difference?

I have come across the panasonic FS9 for a similar price and it has what seem to be indentical specs. I haven't been able to find any reviews for the FS9 and i wondered if anyone knew the difference between it and the FS10. Many thanks.
