I found this model and started to do some review searching, it all seemed too good to be true. Not a single bad comment (except from the people that prefer a £5000 hasselbad) So i found the best deal I could and took the plunge.
I have to say, it has, so far, lived up to every expectation. The clarity of the pictures is outstanding. It can function extremely well on full auto and the only time we've had to adjust the settings was in a play area that had tungsten lighting and orange walls, but with a little jiggery pokery on the settings all was well.
The face recognition works well and the optical zoom is superb for tightening the frame. The wide angle lens makes indoors shots of parties etc so much easier without all the 'move closer together' shouts. Video clips are great quality and can be kept small enough to be easily e-mailed etc or high quality enough to drop onto DVD. This really is an easy camera to get great shots on.
To ballance the review though, there are a couple of niggles which may or may not influence your decission. The flash sometimes takes a second or two to kick in, not so good for the instant shots where and quick point and shoot is required. The only other thing is the digital zoom, i personally hate them. Keep it on optical at max resolution and use photoshop or paintshop pro to crop the image.
My recommendation is to buy a second battery (deals on ebay) a padded carry case and the largest memory card you can afford (we use a 16gb) and you'll be clicking away with beautiful results for years.
Advantages: Good quality Disadvantages: No viewfinder
I don't own this camera but i know my dad has because he used it to take pictures of ym little sister's 4th birthday party. It has 10.1 mega-pixels which means it can take pictures of the best qualtiy and an LCD display. It comes wiht special effects so you can customize your pictures and also face detection and image re-sizing.
It weighs under 120g so it means that it is compact enough even so that kids can use it. The camera has a battery included ... ...300 pictures. It has a good memory and also a memory card slot. It has a USB 2.0 compatibility so that you can take pictures with the camera and then connect it to your computer and store them on your pc. I think ym dad bought it for about £140 so it's not really that expensive. The only bad thing about it is that there is no viewfinder but apart from that it's a good gadget. ...
