Advantages: Sexy, powerful, incredibly easy-to-use, challenging, with amazing new features Disadvantages: No carry case, no viewfinder, slowish zoom, short self-timer
...(wide-angle 3.6x zoom lens). The Panasonic technology also means that you get particularly good image clarity; no problems with blurring. There's also a great telephoto setting that really enhances the zoom - these are the best photos I've ever seen taken on a point-and-click camera.
COLOR: A nice selection of options; Standard, Natural, Vivid (a little too vivid to be of much use, but whatever), Black and White, Sepia, Cool or Warm.
SIZE: Unusually ... ...this sooner or later, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX55 takes a LOT of the pain away through its great new Intelligent Auto mode, which automatically detects the situation and chooses the settings that'll give you the best picture. Five "environmental" settings detected by the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX55 mode are Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Night Portrait and Night Scenery.
There's also something called O.I.S. Mode that offers an anti-shake to compensate ...

Advantages: Small and light, OIS technology, lots of ISOs, long life Li-ion rechargeable battery Disadvantages: 3.6x Optical zoom
Hello, I wasted tons of time looking for "the perfect digital camera", but the search just stopped with the lumix Fx55eb.
Lumix called my attention with its optical image stabilizer technology (mega O.I.S.) which fight against blurred images, this tech compensate for handshake and movement of the subject, amazing!.
Try it walking, running or riding a motorcycle and no more blurred picture.
Another point is the camera got 7 ISOs, that's mean you ... ...seen a picture where the person got all the flash and the background is dark??, not anymore, with the auto ISO.
for example: If the subject is moving, the ISO setting would automatically rise to allow high shutter speed. On the other hand, if the subject is still and no movement is detected, you can take beautiful natural images with a low ISO setting.
Dont go for the Megapixel, remember that you only need two-megapixel if you want to make 4x6-inch ...

Being a Panasonic Lumix means it uses a high quality Leica lense which is 28mm wide angle allowing for some brilliant 16:9 pictures. The video mode on the camera records in high quality with decent sound quality. The camera also comes with a AV cable for connection to televisions to showcase pictures and videos on big screen. The camera features 'intelligent auto' mode which works out all the settings for you as well as anti-shake ...

Advantages: Well built, stylish, nice label, works very, very well Disadvantages: Too many settings - just something missing
I was lured to this camera by the Leica branded lense and smart black casing. Underneath this sytlish exterior lies an excellent camera, with build quality and functions that are beyond what I expected from the price. I bougt it after spending ages searching the internet and was finally convinved when I found that the very, very similar Leica branded model was more than twice the £106 price tag of this one.
The camera is a good weight, light enough ... ...Funcionality is good, though some of the menus are a little idiosincratic - there are a vast array of different automated settings for different occasions which are pretty irrelevant. Some of the modes, such as macro for close up and dull ighting indoors actually seem to make pictures worse. I found some of the pre-set shutter speeds/sensor radius very useful - for most outdoor shots, I pick one of these rather than fiddling with the different options. ...

A couple of weeks ago I was introduced to this tiny digital camera, now there have been plenty tiny digital cameras in the past but none have been all that good. This one however has an unbelievable amount of features for such a small piece of equipment. more
I bought this camera as a replacement for our "family" camera we have used my wife's old 35mm Cannon for taking holiday snaps and felt it was a good time to replace it with a digital. "We" wanted a camera with a good optical zoom, "I" wanted a camera to... more
I had been after a Digital SLR for some time, and when the opportunity arose to buy one I did just that. Well, that's not actually technically true. By rights this camera is not a digital SLR, but in fact a compact 'superzoom' camera, it looks like a... more
