This was my second camera I bought and I was completely satisfied with it for the first couple of months. But as I took more pictures, I could distinguish some downsides of this camera. Firstly, the "grains" or "dead pixels" when taking pictures with ISO 200 or ISO 400, at times it can be really annoying, when a perfect picture is ruined by those "extra" pixels. I have noticed that this problem was solved in further models, like FZ-30, and even more in FZ-50, I have tried all of them, and the difference is really noticeable. If you change to this camera from an older 3MP cam with 3or4x optical zoom (which I did), the sense of good quality is just overhelming. 12x zoom feature is very useful, sometimes you may even want to go further from the object to use it. The easiness of using the menu is also a nice feature, you can figure everything out by yourself without using a manual, everything is easily and logically accessible. In my own opinion, this camera is perfect gift for a teenager, who has just shown his first ambitions for photography, or simply for a person who needs a cheap camera, which produces results that are really higher than the average. Allthough with time you might want to upgrade for FZ50 or a SLR camera.

Sorry for the low rating. Its a good start but for higher ratings you need to add more. How easy is it to upload the pictures to your PC? I suggest you read around other reviews and this will help. If you edit this review in any way let me know via my guestbook and I'll be happy to re-read it. Welcome to Ciao, I hope you enjoy it here.

I hope you don't mind if I make a suggestion? There was a lot of information in your review but it was quite hard to read all bunched up together. Reviews that are broken up into smaller paragraphs and have a blank space between them are easier for others to read and it also gives a nice overall look to the review. You can edit your review at any time to change it or to add new information at any time by clicking on the edit link which is top centre of the page as you read your review. Fionaxx
