"Panasonic NV-M40 VHS Video Camera"

I have had one of these cameras since 1993, and it is still operating despite the attentions of my (at the time) ten-year-old son (he's now a father himself) and his friends. i.e, it's tough!

It still takes an excellent picture on full VHS, and the only shortcoming for me is that I have to copy to DVD before editting on my computer so I can send DVDs to friends, family, etc. I can't copy directly to my computer without special equipment, unlike a digital camera.

Well, that and the fact that I don't have the operators manual, and can't remember how to operate many of the features.

The camera has broken down once, when I dropped it at a party and physically broke the tape locking mechanism, which is quite sensitive, and the battery gave up the ghost - I transferred the plug to a car jump starter with 12v outlet, and get up to 12 hours recording.
