(+) high sound quality, diverse functions, record to tape mode, record from tape mode (-) usless instruction manual, useless recording programme, not all cables supplied
I looked before Christmas for a personal radio cassette player for my daughter who, at the age of six is very keen to listen to books on tape. I had looked at various units and decided to buy the Panasonic from the Internet as the price and specification seemed to be very good.
The unit arrived before Christmas and I got a battery out and tested the unit. The first thing I noticed was how light the unit was which at the time seemed to be a bonus. The unit worked well the tape played giving a good sound the extra bass feature improved the low-end sound no end!
I was pleased that the unit appeared to be very economical on batteries taking just one AA size battery which the makers claim will last up to 30 hours, I never tested this but I know in the time my daughter used it playing tapes every night using the auto reverse ...
Advantages: Picture Quality ,Ease of use Disadvantages: no
honest I am basically a panasonic sound system fanatic simply because I am a person to whom music means a lot, but it is also true I have an inherent weakness for the panasonic brand name itself. Although I am not a professional photographer but photography does interest me a lot and on top of that there are friends who are professionals in this field. I came across panasonic lumix dmc-tz7 through one of my friends, what attracted me was its silvery looks ..more...Image Stabilization which functions by raising the camera's sensitivity (and along with it, the noise levels) so as to achieve a higher shutter speed and reduce motion blurring. The panasonic lumix dmc-tz7 will also include face detection capable of identifying eight faces simultaneously, and will take into account the locations of detected faces when calculating autoexposure ...
Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7 Disadvantages: No HD movie mode, not very cheap
The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 is a great little camera that I have used to compliment my large DSLR (a Nikon D90 I have also reviewed), which is too big and expensive to be taken everywhere.
Specification
The TZ6 is compact camera with 10.1 MP, which is plenty of pixels for all but the larger prints and harshest crops. This means that in normal conditions there will never be pixelation, in fact too many megapixels squashed onto a sensor can actually reduce the image quality. The most important feature of this camera is the 12x zoom, 25mm wide angle, Leica lens. Leica is a quality brand, and this lens is no exception, it produces quality images and the lens slides out of the camera quickly and smoothly. There is no lens cap, but slide across covers, as in most other digital compacts.
