Disadvantages On playing DVD's of pre-HD material 1980's TV the video may not display across the whole screen.

Review summary
This Panasonic system is a great investment and great value. Delivering a truly fantastic visual and audio experience when viewing HD tv programmes and Blu-ray discs. If viewing DVD's, be aware, certain older films or TV may not take up the whole viewable area of the TV screen, however, the sound is still an improvement. Overall if I could give this a 'star' rating I would give this: Five out of five for the audio and visual experience when viewing HD TV & Blu-ray's; Four out of five for the audio and visual experience when viewing non-HD TV & DVD's.

This is my personal review, please be aware that these are merely my own 'personal' opinions.

I recently decided to upgrade to a new HD Blu-ray home cinema system - I am glad I did. Here is why....

I have been able to purchase and experience the superior quality of Blu-ray films first-hand.

When playing the blu-ray discs the audio and visual experience has been, in my opinion, amazing.

Audio – the sound quality is a great improvement on the standard DVD home cinema system. On Watching the film ‘Inception’ – a film I had only recently viewed on my old DVD system – I noted an improvement in the clarity of the music and sound effects.

Visual – with the new system I am no longer aware of any ‘ghosting’ on my TV screen – being HD ready this should not really come as a surprise!

The textures and colours are move vibrant and involving making for a truly great viewing experience.

However, I most sound a note of caution. On playing a DVD set which contains TV episodes that were first aired on TV in the early 90’s I did note that the player seemed to compress the video to about two thirds of the available viewing area – a bit of a niggle, however this probably can be overlooked as, audio-wise, the sound quality is akin to being in the cinema with the surround sound giving it that immersive feel.

My advice to those looking to upgrade - buy this system, it is great!
