Panasonic SC-ZT1 HTIB Connectivity Quite Fine

Advantages Easy hookup, great synchronization with other Panasonic, flexible speaker positioning
Disadvantages Base needs a little help with powered subwoofer
The four speaker version of SC-ZT1 integrates very well with my Panasonic ZT1 TV and BluRay player, with a wide variety of functions synched. It produces quite reasonable quality sound (better than expected), and it was easy to add a powered subwoofer to make the floor shake. The four speaker format produces a quite credible surround sound field. The lack of treble / bass controls is addressed with a whisper setting and a large variety of surround effect pre-sets. I did not enounter any feedback with other 2.8 ghz toys in the house, and I certainly had no problem with speaker location. (Comments by other reviewers regarding problems with speaker positioning seem, in my view, to be wholly inaccurate.) Each speaker does require an electricity source, which makes the "wireless" concept someone gimicky (the same could be said for the ZT1 TV). However, the unit looks great with the ZT1, is really convenient to use and has some useful features such as lip synching which overcomes the mismatch when the TV is hooked up to my audiophile sound system. And I'm delighted that there is no iPod dock so my daughter doesn't monopolize it.
