The best part of the whole package has go to be the 30GB built into the camcorder its sheer size allows you to record 7 hours worth of video. You dont even have to decide which bits to delete once it starts getting full as you are given a full package to upload and edit any of your footage taken by the camcorder onto your pc. This allows you to copy your recordings onto DVD from your pc to keep forever. So much easier than those naff DV tapes.
As a whole s trully brilliant camcorder I would recommend to everyone especially those wanting a cheap yet excellent camcorder.I'm glad I bought mine 9/10

Dont even think of buying this product .The moment its copied onto a computer ,the picture output(with the O.I.S. ) is shaky. In addition to this if its burnt onto a DVD .....its like an earthquake on screen .
Already had it checked at the authorized centre. The said its working fine as per the specifications.
If you buy it you'l regret it. ...

Quick review of Panasonic SDR-H20
This is a brilliant little camcorder, with its 30gb hard drive then you can film 7 hours of best quality, I bought this for £199.88 from my local comet store, it was the easiest camcorder I've ever used (and I've used a few!) you just charge the battery switch it on and you're away! This is an amazing price for a hard drive camcorder, and its panasonic so I no its going to be reliable and even if something does happen I can just pop into comet! No mini dv tapes to worry about, or a logo saying hapgfdtgyvb! and no fiddling about trying to send it back to chingchongchinamenrus.com ! this is an amazing camcorder! ...

Advantages: 32x zoom, 30gb hard drive, light weight. very easy to use, long battery life Disadvantages: Hard to keep picture still at 32X zoom, lower quality photo's
I Love The panasonic SDR-H20 camcorder. I've owned it for a few months now I find the picture quality very sharp and clear showing full vibrant colours. The 32X zoom on this camcorder as been worth it's weight in gold with the only downfall with the zoom is at 32X you do need a very steady hand to get the best picture there is. The still camera on the SDR-H20 is't the largest of mega pixels but it works very well in dull light as well as bright day ...

Advantages: A cool 30GB hard drive,SD memory support and Dolby Digital sound Disadvantages: Has Slight jitter in video and poor still images
Being a mid-market camcorder this does, sadly, mean that some of the manual controls aren't as large or easy to use as they would be on an enthusiast model. It would mark a definite improvement if a manual focus ring were included, rather than asking the joystick to multi-task yet again.
The camcorder's stills capability is a disappointing area, highlighting the shortcomings of a 'mere' 800,000 pixel CCD in an era where everyone's counting megapixels. ... ...normal, but it's in terms of resolution that the main complaint resides - there's only 640x480 and 640x360 modes; the latter offering a 16:9 aspect ratio.
A far more productive inclusion is the Playlists option. This means it's possible to gather together your favourite clips. You can add scenes to a playlist you've already created, move scenes around within one, and delete unwanted clips. Best of all, editing scenes on a playlist doesn't affect ...

Manufacturer's product description
Panasonic SDR-H20 is an SD e.cam video camera with 30GB HDD long-time recording and 32x optical zoom.Panasonic's O.I.S. minimizes the handshake that can be such a problem with handheld shots. Because Panasonic's system is optical, there is no image quality degradation. When you're shooting a still picture, the MEGA O.I.S. system automatically activates, doubling the corrective power. With O.I.S. and MEGA O.I.S., the e.cam is equipped for clear, beautiful shooting of both motion and still pictures. The 32x zoom can fill the screen with even a distant subject. Not only is this lens the powerful zoom offered in a home-use digital video camera, but it also features low distortion. And because it's optical, there is no quality loss - you get the images in all their natural beauty. The Pure Color Engine converts the CCD output signal from a complementary color signal into an RGB signal at an early stage and extracts the low-frequency luminance component from the RGB signal. This innovative engine also achieves truly superb color reproduction for high-zoomed pictures.Panasonic's MPEG2 engine is a wide-range, high-precision search engine that produces smooth, beautiful motion pictures. Because it precisely records the differences in each frame, it can render fast, complex motions - like those of athletes in the thick of the action - with exceptional precision. The MPEG2 engine also uses Variable Bit Rate technology that Panasonic developed for the high-end DIGA DVD recorder. Giving LP recordings nearly twice the resolution captured with previous Panasonic video cameras, this lets the e.cam record clear, smoothly flowing pictures. This model offers the High-Picture-Quality Wide Mode, which produces images that make for beautiful, dramatic viewing on a wide-screen TV. The image is processed on 16:9 area of the CCD. Because the image decoded has the same proportions as your wide-screen TV, there is virtually no picture quality degradation. You get beautiful images and all the excitement and dynamism on either a wide 16:9 screen TV or a conventional 4:3 TV. This model also features a wide 2.7-inch LCD, making it easier to frame shots when you're shooting in 16:9 mode. You can enjoy shooting wide, and viewing wide.
