Manufacturer's product description
The SDR-SW20 combines a rugged, compact body with waterproofing that allows use in seawater to a depth of 1.5 meters, shockproofing that protects against drops from up to 1.2 meters, and dustproofing. Today many people post still images taken with their digital cameras onto Internet Websites and blogs. Sites for posting video clips are now becoming popular too, and more and more people are using motion images as a form of creativity, communication and self-expression. The SDR-SW20 debuts at a time when the trend toward using video for casual, everyday use is growing strong. For occasions when in the past it may have seemed a bit awkward to pull out a camcorder, such as on short outings or business trips, the SDR-SW20 offers no such discomfit. Users can take out the SDR-SW20 and shoot with the same casual freedom as people snapping everyday photos with a still image camera.
Advantages: GOOD PICTURE QUALITY WITH WIDE RANGE OF FEATURES. Disadvantages: MIGHT BE EXPENSIVE TO SOME.
...This is quite a fabulous digital camera made by Panasonic one of the leaders in electronic products. The camera suites all your desired events you need to record include occasions like marriages, life music band and other recode able events. I bought this for these listed reasons above. The Panasonic camera device has wide range of features and that makes it very marvelous to use. It has very competent zoom lens camera or rather adjustable lens to your desired views.
The PanasonicSDR-S7REB-K comes in black shiny looks and that is quite attractive and makes it more beautiful. Camcorder usage has really evolved to compare to the previous days I used to see those old camcorders that had limited and poor image quality. Panasonic has done an excellent work by provided sophisticated SD card. To really get the beauty of what the device...

Advantages: It's silver, it's compact, fits in my wife's microscopic handbag Disadvantages: It's just not what you expect from Panasonic
...OK. Let's get something straight out now before I continue. I love Panasonic. I have always been brand loyal. Hi-fi, DVD players, Video recorder, TV's, Sat System - god , I even went and bought a 3DO just because it was by Panasonic!! (for those of you who may not remember, a 3DO was the first ever "next gen" games console - trust me, it was...)
However, my experiences with this camera have questioned my loyalty - so from that you can best surmise I am not too pleased with this one... let me begin:
Reviews: like most, I always do hefty research into products before purchase - to be even more honest I do trust Panasonic as I have never, ever had a bad experience with their products. So, when my wife decided to upgrade her Canon Ixus 2, I thought I knew best and surprised her with a package I thought well researched in the Lumix...

Advantages: Very realistic photos Disadvantages: Zoon not large enough
...feel that when zooming in from far away the Lumix zoom power is lacking.
When purchasing the Lumix, you get the camera itself which also has the lens changing capabilities for when you want a larger zoom. You get a USB adapter cable to connect to your computer. You also get a CDROM from Panasonic that offers a picture placement and organization program and of course you get the instruction manual available in many different languages.
All in all, this is an excellent camera. I am a firm believer that when it comes to digital cameras that you get what you pay for. The Lumix is worth every bit of it.
I puschased my Lumix from my local Military BX for U.S.$459.00 but I believe you can order these on line plus newer versions from panasonic.com...

Having wended my way steadily through the years via Standard 8 (remember that anyone?), Hi8 and Digital 8 video, we last owned a Canon DV camcorder. This was an improvement so far as weight was concerned over the Sony Digi8, but the Canon still weighed... more
A great piece of kit this camcorder is. My old dv tape camcorder packed in a month ago so I decided to try find a new one for around £200. Thought I might fluke a find of a decent priced DVD camcorder but when I saw a camcorder for under £200 which also... more
