Now let me tell you, I am not the most careful person in the world and I need to express to you now the sturdiness of this player. I have dropped it, on a hard wood floor. The player was no different and did not even skip! In fact, I cannot get this player to skip even if I try my hardest, and I have tried. I have owned this CD/Mp3 Player for about a week now, and am a very happy owner! First off, the design is very stylish and different from the norm. It's award winning design really caught my eye in the store and since then I have not been disappointed with any aspect of the actual player. The earphones supplied are only of average to low quality but that can easily be sorted. I was slightly disappointed that this player does not come with an earphone remote, but I did not really give this much thought.
** The main function buttons are on the front centre of the player, with things like volume and EQ along the edge of the front panel.
** The battery compartment is on the inside of the player, which is quite normal these days and I have not heard of this design causing damage to CDs which some people express concern about.
**This player displays clearly the name of the track and album, using ID3Tag technology.
The sound quality of this player is excellent and very clear, it has only 2 EQ settings, Live and XBS (as well as normal) but they are quite satisfactory for the average listener. The volume can be turned up loud enough certainly for me as I have no problem listening to the player on the train or in town. Some have complained it is not the loudest player, but I cannot say that that is true. It is certainly good enough for most and I am personally happy with the volume.
I was impressed by how long the batteries lasted on the panasonic, it states 48 hours on the box but anything over 14 is good enough for me. I did not measure exactly how long they lasted but I fully charged up brand new rechargable batteries and then listened to the player at pretty much full volume for 4 days, and for quite a long time and it was only then they ran out. The battery life is displayed clearly on the player's display so you will know when you will need to change them. This panasonic takes ordinary AA alkaline batteries or rechargables.

The player was no different and did not even skip! In fact, I cannot get this player to skip even if I try my hardest, and I have tried. I even inserted one of my oldest, not unblemished CDs and shook the player as hard as I could for about 30 seconds before giving up.

Advantages: Attractive, Round, Light-Weight Disadvantages: Large
This CD PLayer is almost perfectly round. It has a plain LCD screen on the top. Two AA batteries go inside the CD Player under the lid. It also plays MP3 CD's, which hold a lot more music. There is a Four part circular button in the middle of the lid.It cotrols On/Off, Play/Stop, etc. The volume is also controlled with buttons and not the little whell on the side so it isless likely to be changed accidentaly. One of the best qualities of the CD Player ...

Advantages: excellent performer, last forever Disadvantages: extra base not very effective.
I was very pleased to see the SL MP30 on this website. I still remember when i got my first paycheck at the age of 16 flicking through music catalogues looking at things to buy to fuel my passion for music, i came across lots of CDmp3 players. this was about 4years ago and the memory based Mp3 players were very rare and the memory maximum was about 64MB. That was not enough for me, i needed something to carry atleast 700mb worth of songs, i needed a CDMp3player.
So i finnally found a sony CDmp3 player which i bought and it kept turning off every few days, it was a good player but it wasnt very reliable so i returned it hoping for a replacement. The shop did not have the same sony so they offered me the Panasonic SL MP3CD to keep me happy, even though it was a few pounds more expensive than sony's. I took it grudgingly thinking ...
Advantages: good sound quality, good D sound anti-skip system, earphone remote control, plays mp3 and wma Disadvantages: doesn't support ID3tags
I have had the Panasonic SL SX420 for awhile now, and I am very happy with its performance. I was looking for a cd/mp3 portable player that would be sylish, with long lasting batteries and with a good anti-skip system. SL SX420 offers all of it.
The player has a similar design as other Panasoniccd players with the main function buttons (memo, mode, eq, play, stop, ff, rew, nad volume)on the front of the player. The only functions that are on the side of the cd player are hold and open button. Some of the functions (volume, hold, eq, play/stop, ff, and rew) are also on the remote control which really makes it easy to control the cd player when you have it in your pocket or in your backpack.
The sound quality of the discman is excellent and very clear. It has s-xbs, s-xbs+, live, an normal eq settings. The volume goes all the way ...
Advantages: Good basic player Disadvantages: reliability lets it down
-rechargeable batteries on mp3 songs (30 hours with CD data) which is enough for even the longest journey! An AC (230-240 V) adapter is supplied for mains use so you can listen to your mp3s for as long as your little heart desires. The problem with this is that the player is then permanently on standby, so you have to turn it off at the plug so that it is not ?live? and eating up your elecy bill. There is a little battery icon on the display so you know when its about to die on you. I?ve just been reading through the instruction booklet and just realised that you can actually recharge rechargeable batteries inside the mp3player, although I don?t have any rechargeable batteries to try this out with.

The player comes in a blue and black box with the white Panasonic name in the top left corner and a large picture of the player down the left side ...

Compact with an excellent battery life and great sound quality, audio cd, mp3 and atrac compatible, the atrac cd creation software is very user friendly
Atrac software only works on windows pcs, not macs, included headphones feel cheap, doesn’t feel particularly robust (*)
