The clarity and picture definition is unbelievable especially if you are using the High Definition feature. Let me explain a little about High Definition TV this is a digital signal that is now being transmitted which allows your TV to display a picture with a higher screen resolution and a clearer more vivid picture. A lot of TV’s are now being built with this feature as standard as TV stations are now transmitting some channels with HD signals but slowly this new technology will be phased in. The screen size is 42” which translates to 1920X1080 pixels with a staggering 68.7 Billion colours

The sound for this TV is the Smart Sound Speaker System with the Panasonic is well known for the ambience speaker system which does sound good for a stand alone TV.

VIERA- analyzes each scene and adjusts the picture accordingly to assure optimum brightness. HD Ready Technology as explained above. Digital Optical Output. 3 x HDMI Input. PC Input. SDHC Card Networkability (H.264 / MPEG2 / HD-JPEG) Built in Free View.
I have connected to the TV via the HDMI connections are my Technics Home Entertainment System, Tape Player connected through Cable set top box, and Play Station 3. Also connected through the Mini D Sub connection for PC Input is my home PC giving me a 42” computer screen, cool!
The remote control although looks complicated is simple once you get use to it with the great explanation from the instruction book.
When ordering the TV there are three letters that normally follow the model number being:
CAB: For the cabinet to come with the TV. PED: For a pedestal to come with the TV to be on a stand. WALL: For a wall mount bracket to come with the TV.
The built in Free View allows you to watch channels that are extra to the normal terrestrial signal these extra channels are BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, BBC Four, ITV 1, ITV 2, ITV 3, ITV 4, ITV Play, 4, E4, E4 +1, More 4, Five, Five US, Five Life, Sky Three, Sky News, BBC News 24, BBC Parliament, Sky Sports News, Film 4, UKTV History, UKTV Bright Ideas, FTN, ABC 1, Quiz Call, S4C, S4C-2, The Hits, TMF, CBeebies, CBBC, CITV, Community Channel, Teachers TV, Ideal World, QVC Price Drop TV, Bid TV, Teletext, Plus radio stations. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Price xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The price does vary from different companies but I have found a place online including delivery for the TV on its own is £1999.95 or with the Cabinet, Pedestal and Wall Bracket the cost would be £2049.95 (Though I do not know whether installation is included with this price). I have seen it as expensive as £2600.00 online and in shops.
Overall this is an excellent piece of equipment that I’m sure anyone would love to have in there home, I love it I wish that I could have a bigger sized room to fit in its big brother the 50” Panasonic TH-50PZ700.
Advantages: Lots of HDMI inputs. Disadvantages: Only one component input. Keeps downgrading resolution.
OK guys ignore the blurb about this being a 'full HD' Its full HD with SEVERE restrictions.
I bought this TV yesterday and I thought I was in a pretty neat position since I've got 2 products capable of 1080P - an xbox 360 and PC with latest graphics card.
Got an XBOX 360? yes? Want to stream 1080P? yes? You know this TV has component inputs? Great Yes?? - No its 1080i for you.
Got a new PC with top notch graphics card? Yes? and want to stream ... ...for you.
If you're lucky enough to have a DVI-HDMI converter for your PC then you can enjoy 1080P but man is it blurry that way. I thought I was technically capable, and I'm still messing around, but even with the latests nvidia graphics card and software I'm unable to get it to display correctly.
OK, so assume you then sell your 'old' xbox 360 for a new PS3 then everythings 1080P right? No, not if you want picture in picture, then its down to ...

Advantages: Amazing picture, amazing sound Disadvantages: there are better looking sets
When buying a large TV 42inch and over i would always recommend a plasma. Movies look amazing and the response time for quick action movies and sport cannot be matched by LCD.
Picture from the freeview tuner is impressive and the epg is useful if you don't have sky or cable. However when this TV really shows of is when you give it some HD content. I watched casino royale on bluray in glorious 1080p and i was amazed i felt like i was there the picture ... ...were incredible. What is also a bonus with this set is the sound quality, the best i have heard from a tv without the aid of surround sound cinema equipment. The sound is clear and if you tweak with the settings and turn the bass to almost full you get a real boost to those explosions and action scenes. However at high volumes the back panel shakes and a slight rattle can be heard at high bass points but its very slight.
If you are looking to buy ...

Advantages: Great picture, natural colours, fantastic sound quality Disadvantages: Prone to screen burn, the remote is a little clunky
...but ended up buying the Panasonic for two reasons. Firstly, the colours on the Panasonic were much more natural than that of the Samsung; secondly, the sound quality provided by the Panasonic was far superior to that of Sony's offering. Since owning the TV, I've never had any problems with it. I love watching good movies and good documentaries with my other half and am completely satisfied with my purchase. '''One Warning!''' - don't play games that ...
