Overall this TV is brilliant and is definitely going to last us many happy and fulfilling years! The set is around £700 but you can buy simalar sets from a range of about (£500-600)

I got this TV last Monday, our old diddy family TV which was hundreds of years old finally got replaced and moved upstairs! Our old TV wasn't that small at all really, it was a reasonable size and worked well, it was quite old though so I think we got our new one just for a change really. ~ And a holiday treat!
Our new TV probably doesen't mean much to you as a TX-28-DK3! So I will explain.......
Basically this television is a Pansonic Widescreen with surround sound. (Cool huh!?) The television is available in 28 and 32" screens. We decided on the 28" (Hence the name of the TV) First of all it was a lot cheaper and secondly a 32" would have looked rather crowded in our relatively small living room.
We decided on this TV through looking through the WHICH? magazine, each issue they have a BEST BUY section, this issue just had to have widescereen TV's. This Panasonic 28" was the BEST BUY of the month so we thought we'd all as a family go and have a look at one! (YEY!)
The TV looked really cool in the showroom but it looks even better in our living room now! It comes in a silver colour which can be more exspensive than the normal black coloured televisions but they look great so we went for it! The screen is not one of these totally flat ones either, it is relatively flat but not totally which I like.
What makes our TV even better though!? Well for a starter we have the brilliant widescreen facility, you can actually see more things on a widescreen than on a normal telly! The widescreen works best on Sky/Cable because the channels have been made and updated to suit widescreen tellys. There are even some digital channels that are made for widescreen and widescreen only, the picture quality is superb, you couldn't get any better.
Then you have the Dolby Prologic surround sound, this is fantastic!!! We have two normal speakers on the television itself, then we have a sub woofer below the TV in the stand along with our video player and cable box. The sub woofer is available on and off at all times via your remote. Then we have the surround sound speakers, we have two of these and we had them installed along with the TV so the man put them in the right places to get the best quality and sound. The speakers are a relatively good size and have really long cables so can reach around the biggest of rooms, they can be wall mounted around head height when your sittting down for the best sound quality. These are optional on and off too via your remote again.
Sometimes the surround sound automatically works on normal TV but I think that this is best for sky and cable. I have found that the surround sound is brilliant in movies, it's just like being in a cinema. I also like to have it turned on along with the sub woofer when I listen to the music channels. Football surround sound isn't recommended from me because all you can hear is the crowd and not the commentators, thats along with comedy shows as well. If you watch speedway than put on the surround sound, its really good as if being there!
One disadvantage is that the surround sound doesen't work on our video player and most video players too! However if you upgrade to a DVD player than you will be able to recieve the surround sound option.
Even when you don't use the surround sound isn't on and working you still have great quality sound, much better than many other Tv's, everything is really clear and great to listen to, especially music! As I mentioned before you can turn many speakers on and off, you can also change the volume of the speakers so the pump-action around the room is even, this is done via the remote on the 'sound' button.
The television also comes with a stand, this is also silver, but also has some black in it, it's pretty attractive and is suitable to place your DVD player or video player on as well, however if you have a sky or cable box than there is no room for 3 boxes, so you have to choose two to put in the stand.
As like most televisions nowadays, teletext is available on this TV, on widescreen the function is great because the writing is so large and much easier to read! Teletext is very easy to access and use.
The remote is jam packed full of buttons, but isn't a humoungous ugly and bulky remote, it's a decent size and easy to use and control. You can even access and control your Panasonic video and DVD player through the same remote too which is pretty good.
Overall this TV is brilliant and is definitely going to last us many happy and fulfilling years! The set is around £700 but you can buy simalar sets from a range of about (£500-600)
At the moment if you buy this TV you can buy the matching Panasonic DVD player with it for only £200 because a new edition of DVD player is going to be brought out surely, we didn't no whether to take the option or not because we already have a DVD player in anotehr room, we ended up leaving it but I highly recommend it. Thanks for reading everyone. ~M~

...matching stand. It's also a Panasonic which is a make I have never had any problem with. The sound on the TV is utterly great, provided you set up the five speakers correctly. You can buy seperate stands for the small pro-logic speakers and this is how to get the best from them as they need to be at head level to get the feel of cars rushing by or explosions going off all over the place. I also like the attached centre speaker which is housed neatly ... ...whole sound system. The picture quality is very high, but one annoying thing is the auto apect system which automatically chooses the best picture format for wide screen broadcasts or non-wide. It tends to jump from wide to normal even between adverts. However, you can leave it set to 16:9. Also, it's not a flat screen TV. Other than that, I'm very pleased with it. ...

Advantages: Excellent picture quality and sound Disadvantages: Ok it's bigger than an LCD or plasma...
...word for CRT tvs. My Panasonic 28" widescreen tv has a sharper, clearer, more colourful and contrast-rich picutre than even the most expensive Plasma and doesn't suffer from any of the pixellation or problems with fast moving scenes such as sport that plagues LCDs and Plasmas.
I'm not sure whether no one else notices or it's a case of "king's new clothes" and no one dares mention that , while their new tv looks very futuristic and sci-fi flat, actually ... ...may look passable (though the contrast ratios make night scenes grey rather than black) but standard definition Freeview broadcasts, especially on the more compressed channels such as ITV3, are frankly awful. I can't believe that home cinema pruists will keep quiet forever and Ifor one do not think we have seen the last ...

i bought mine in oct 2001 and it is still giving a fantstic picture and sound, i opted for the surround sound speakers at an extra £50. deffinatley worth the extra money. the sound is so clear and crisp that i have many times got up to answer the front door after hearing the door bell going off only to realise that i don't have a doorbell!
With all the extra options in the tv for sound and vision it doesn't matter if you have the sun on the screen ...

When it comes to TV's, there is simply no better performer than Panasonic. For theater-like picture quality, you can't beat this flatscreen set from Panasonic. It provides the clearest possible picture while greatly reducing glare. With additional features that help to purify the image, the crispness and clarity produced by this television is simply as good as it gets. Enjoy the startling depth and clarity produced by your Panasonic TV set.
