If you care about picture quality (as I do) you might find yourself considering a 100Hz TV such as this Panasonic 28" model. However, if you care about picture quality (as I do more than I thought I did) you would probably find yourself dissatisfied (as I have) with the particular example of this TV I purchased from Robertson's Online towards the end of last year. The general standard of the picture is good: its steady, sharp and flicker-free with good colour and contrast. However, there are dark, cloudy patches which look like dirt on the screen but are certainly not caused by anything on the outer surface. These patches become particularly evident when a camera pans horizontally as the patches stay still: rather like the effect of looking out of a grubby train window. As well as these random 'dirty' patches there are several dark vertical lines as well as what appears to be a dark border of about 3" at the left and right of the screen. All of this may be quite normal for a widescreen TV but I am quite sure the cloudy patches suggest a defective tube. Of course I hope to have the set repaired or replaced, however, even if this is a one-off it is a concern that it got through quality control in the first place.
In summary: I still think this is a good TV for the money but I have some reservations about picture quality and Panasonic's quality control. If you are fussy (like me) perhaps you should think twice.
