Following my purchase of a DVD player and the increasing frequency of widesceen broadcasts on Sky Digital I deceided to make the jump and replace my Toshiba 32" 4:3 Dolby set with a widescreen one. Advantages Advantages Picture Quality, Sound Quality, Set Up

Disadvantages Disadvantages Need Dolby Surround 5.1 for full effect

Advantages Advantages Easy to setup and make changes to system

Disadvantages Disadvantages viewing mode can change mid-programme

This model, bought to replace a previous model which lasted 15 years, provides a sharp picture and superb pro-logic or simulated sound. The speaker system enables sound close to that experienced in the cinema with an easy and intuitive menu system to set up both the sound and the picture. You must position your speakers effectively, especially the rear speakers, to get the best effects. The set is aesthetically pleasing from the front but it is bulky from the sides and rear. The picture system automatically selects the right mode for the programme being broiadcast or playing. If its a wide ... more
