**Introduction**
You may have read my previous review which was of my Denon Mini System which I have in my bedroom. Well Another electrical product which I recently bought is the subject for my next review. The Panasonic TX-P37X10. I had been very fond of my fantastic Panasonic CRT Television but seeing as the prices of new plasmas and lcd televisions have come down recently I thought it was about time that I spent my extra online income on something that would look pride of place in my living room. Having looked around at a number of different televisions, there were three that stood out to me. They were Toshiba, Samsung and of course Panasonic. Having looked at several televisions from the manufacturers These are the top three in my opinion.
Once I had decided on a 37inch television and had eventually chosen Panasonic, I looked at the various Plasma and LCD screens which were available at various prices between £350 odd to over £1000. This particular television set me back £489.99 from Amazon which although not the cheapest I found, it was a great deal with free delivery which arrived just two days after I had bought the television. This Plasma
is of course a HD Ready television which I will go into what that means in a little while but This is one of the most highly regarded 37 inch Televisions around the £500 mark.
**HD Ready**
This like many other Plasma Televisions is what you call HD Ready which for you ciao members who are not quite sure what this really means it basically lets you know that It will show programs in High Definition but at the lower 1080i instead of the 1080p which you will find on the "Full HD" screens. All new televisions nowadays will have one of the two formats. Although Full HD is a higher standard of reproduction it can be so that the HD Ready sets can sometimes be of a higher quality than some Full HD televisions.
**TX-P37X10**
What really attracts me to Panasonic Plasma and LCD televisions is the smart look of them which has a look of solidity and class. This particular screen is no different. So what do you get for your money with this screen? well it has all the usual Plasma HDMI inputs, you get three with this one. You also get the standard scart with two of those and There is also a PC Input if you want to connect the screen to your Computer to use as a monitor. You will also find a Memory card slot and two phono inputs. It also comes with freeview.
**Picture**
If you have a television like this or are looking to get one like this then It is probably fair to say that you have some decent equipment already or will certainly add equally good equipment with this. I had standard Sky Plus before I bought this TV so I decided I would upgrade to Sky Plus HD. I have to say that I was really impressed with the picture quality of this screen, whether you are watching a freeview broadcast or Sky you will get a crisp noise free picture which has great blacks and copes well with fast paced scenes which can sometimes cause a slight blur with some televisions. Although you get a fine picture with Blu Ray there are televisions which cope better with the format for the same amount of cash.
I was very impressed with the amazing sound which my Old Panasonic CRT produced, I now have that 28inch screen in my bedroom. This Plasma is one of the better sounding screens at the price point, It gives good detail with dialogue and there is a decent amount of bass when needed. However if you really want to get the best out of your sound I am sure you would partner this screen with a top quality home cinema setup. This set will go rather loud without any major problem. A very good quality sound from this Panasonic Plasma.
**The Remote**
I have always been quite impressed with Panasonic remotes and this is another reason to smile. This remote is easy to use and gives you all the buttons you will need. It also works with other Panasonic products like DVD Players. Some people say does a remote really matter as it won't improve the picture or sound quality but I would say that it does have other advantages, You want a remote that has a good range of features that is not too cluttered and also one that you can also use with other products as this means that if you lose one remote you can still use all the things.
**Build Quality**
Whilst the most important things for a Television screen are picture and sound, the build quality is still a very important factor in choosing which screen to purchase especially when you are spending hundreds of pounds, Thankfully this particular set lives up to Panasonic's wonderful reputation for sturdy products, This will look great on a stand and is very sturdy. At 22KGS it is half the weight of my old CRT and feels strong and very well put together. This is another great plus point for this television against some of it's rivals at the size and price point.
**Overall**
This is a very fine television indeed, Whilst it won't quite bring out the real finest detail that the best at the price point will, it is still a really rather good television set which can be found at a bargain price online. If you are looking at getting a new Plasma set and you have around £500 to spend then this is a very good option indeed. The Picture and Sound a brilliant and the negative points don't matter enough to stop me from awarding this television five stars. This is another fantastic Home Entertainment product from Panasonic.
