This rating is used to state the storage capability of a battery, e.g. a 1000mAh battery would be capable of delivering 1000mA of current consistently for one hour whereas a 2000mAh battery would deliver the same 1000mA of current for two hours. This phone is unbelievable. I found it on display in the carphone warehouse and thought that it would be quite expensive, but when i saw the price on pre-pay i just had to buy it. £100 for a phone that isn't really a pre-pay phone! Carphone warehouse have a habit of buying up phones and bundling them with sim cards for pre-pay, but it is really a sim free phone and will accept any non 3G sim card.
The reason that the price is so low has only to do with the fact that shortly prior to launch, Panasonic announced that they were pulling out of the GSM phone market and concentrating on 3G phones, so the phone was sold off at a low price.
The phone cannot be rivalled at this price range. The 2megapixel camera is very good especially for a pre-pay phone and the screen needs to be seen to be believed, it is absolutely stunning.
For the tech specs, it has a QVGA 240x320 pixels screen supporting 16 million colours for JPEG and camera or video images (this falls to 65k colours for other image types, but considering what this means, it isn't a problem because most other image types would struggle to use more). The brightness of the screen is 300cd/m2 which is claimed to be double that of other phones on the market and when you see it, it would be hard to dispute.
The phone is quite small with VS standing for visual slim and it only weighs 101g including the battery. It measures 96x46x21mm, so it isn't the smallest phone, but it isn't big either.
Memory storage is rather limited with a total of 30MB including preinstalled data and another 2MB for MMS storage, but there is no memory card slot.
For connectivity, it has Infrared (SIR- slow infrared), USB 2.0 and Bluetooth v1.2 which i use for a headset. It doesn't have any problems connecting to my Motorola 850 headset, but to be honest, i seldom use it.
Photo storage is limited at the highest settings due to the limited memory, but the quality is very good for the money. The only niggle with the photo's apart from the limited memory, is the time taken for it to store photo's. It is rather slow, but not too bad.
The user interface is quite good and i haven't had any problems getting around the phone. It has all of the standard features that you would expect and two games preinstalled. One of these is very special. It is Sonic the hedgehog in a very good port from the megadrive with six levels of play. It looks stunning on the phones large screen and non of the speed has been lost from the original, but it can be awkward to play with the phones small keys. This game will soon be released in two parts with three levels each for other phones, but i cannot see them doing the game justice like the Panasonic.
The phone is tri-band with a standby time of 150-430 hours and talk time of 2-8 hours, but i find that this is optimistic where i work.
With a 830mAh Li-ion battery the charge time is only about 2.5 hours.
On the phone from Carphone warehouse, there is a browser option for Panasonic box. For this, you need to go to the Panasonic website and browse around for wallpapers and ringtones. You can even choose Sonic icons for the phones menu. Simply send anything that you like to the Panasonic Box and then log in on your phone and download anything that you like. Being a sim free/pre-pay package, you may need to contact your network to ask them to activate GPRS on the Sim card. Some of the wallpapers are stunning to look at on the screen. I have higher specced phones, but the screens all look rubbish compared to this one.
The phone even has the option of pressing the button on the side for it to flip open and there is no delay between opening and being ready to use.
SMS messages support illumination messages and emoticons are therefore available. To me, this is a gimmick on some of the latest phones, but i am sure young people will love it if their friends also have illumination messaging phones.
The only slight problem with the phone is that it feels a little flimsy.
Advantages: 2.0 megapixel camera, great screen, good battery, under £100 Disadvantages: Flimsy
...I have always found Panasonic phones top be cheap and full with the latest gadgets, and, although they often don't have as many accessories and not as many games and downloads etc, but they are generally good phones.
And this phone didn't let the side down. It is loaded with a 2.0 mega-pixel camera, 16 million colors and an ultra-bright screen all in a super-slim design. And if that sounds good there is more. It comes with sonic the hedgehog (original) ... ...flips the phone for you...
My son was immediately the anger of his classing, taking superior photos and people were lining up to play sonic on his mobile, which is where we found its main weakness… the phone is fairly flimsy.
My son attempted to snatch the phone back off one of his mates, and by doing so the phone dropped to the floor and to my amazement, broke… I couldn't believe it… my phone can withstand a drop of 10ft onto concrete, and his ...

Advantages: easy, lightweight, not too small, good camera/video, good games, alot of storage. Disadvantages: no mp3 player
This phone is the first panasonic phone i have bought and i have to say i would definately buy another. If this one ever gives up on me that is!
The phone is incredibly easy to use and comes with good, concise instructions. My mum has the same phone and can work it with ease, and shes a bit of a technophobe.
It has everything you could really want from a phone except an MP3 player (which i have to say isn't a great loss to me). The battery holds ... ...year now and charges quickly too.
The camera is decent...and even when photos are uploaded to the computer they are good quality if taken during the day! night time photos aren't quite as good, but you can still see everything clearly. The video recorder is the same and records sound as well which i found to be a bonus as even my digital camera doesn't do that.
The casing on mine is slightly scrathched now, but it has been dropped on numerous occasions ...

Advantages: good enough features, good looks Disadvantages: a bit plain inside
this is the panasonic vs6 and as you may know panasonic have not been too successful with mobile phones mainly designing other products such as plasma televisions and video camcorders but i believe that this is starting to change because of the panasonic vs6
i recommend this phone to the average everyday person that uses their phone for the odd game and taking pictures although it also has a mp3 player.
advantages:
mp3 player
good colour screen
... ...disadvantages:
no radio
not much memory plain inside
small buttons
this phone will cost you somewhere in between £80 - £140 and is excellent value for money and i rate this phone a higly reliable and excellent value for money.
thanks for all your comments and ratings
come on england ...
