When you are buyin a flat screen TV theirs two rules to follow: If its under 32" you looking for an LCD, if its bigger than 32" you want a Plasma. This is 42" and is a plasma, panasonic are well known for thier plasma's thier contrast ratios are good with good colour density especially in their HD-ready range compatible with 1080p hi-def, the images are crisp and flow well into each other unlike a LCD after 32" which doesnt like moving images like plasmas do. This Panasonic looks good in black, with a metalic trim going around it, and is wall mountable, and comes with a stand. Best of all i feel is it really easy to install and get going, with simple menus and a simple remote. It is hi-def and the picture quality is superb, but i think the contrast lets it down a bit, however it does sell and will continue to do so because at its price its the best you'll get. In essance when you see a plasma you should think P for panasonic and Pioneer, when you see a LCD you think S for sony and samsung the best brands for each type of TV. However thought this viera is more affordable my honest opinion would say go for the Pioneer 42" more expensive but so much better!
