There are a variety of different shampoos in the Pantene Pro-V range, catering for different types of hair. You can choose from Smooth and Sleek, Sheer Volume, Radiant Colour, Perfect Curl and Classic Care. Each range is colour-coded, and has matching products, such as conditioner, hairspray in various strengths and hair gel.
Pantene promises to give you healthy, moisturised and clean hair, as well as protecting it from the environment and improving the condition in the long run. According to the blurb on the back of the bottle, Vitamin B penetrates the hair shaft to nourish the hair more than other shampoos do, leaving you with manageable, silky locks. Quite a claim for 2.99!
The bottle isn't embarrassing to have on your bathroom rack, but is fairly plain - it comes in a white, rectangular plastic bottle. It survived intact on a four hour flight to Tenerife and back, so it is fairly sturdy! It comes in 250ml and 500ml sizes, but it is better value to buy the 500ml bottle, which costs £2.99.
It is the first pretty shampoo I have ever seen - it's thick, creamy and has a fine shimmer to it! The scent is fresh and sweet, and is unlikely to put anyone off although I can imagine some men thinking it's a bit too girly for them!
It lathers up extremely well with only a small amount, even on my long hair. The smell is quite strong on your hair but once it's all rinsed off (which is easy enough) the smell is too faint for anyone to notice unless they come up to you and sniff your hair!
Once rinsed, conditioned and dried, my hair does look pretty good. It's shiny, smooth and dare I say it, healthy! I use straighteners daily and load my hair with hairspray, serum and various creams, but it looks strong and in great condition whenever I use this shampoo. My hair is very dry, but trusty old Pantene does, as it claims, leave it feeling moisturised!
Pantene always used to leave my hair feeling greasy the day after washing but it doesn't anymore - a new formula, perhaps? I've also heard that it leaves a coating on the hair, but I think all shampoos do! Shampoo is essentially for cleaning grime and dirt out of your hair, but many soften and add shine to your hair - how is that possible when you wash it all out, unless it leaves something, like a coating, on your hair?
I have never used the matching Classic Care products but I imagine they'd work better when used all together rather than a few different brands! If you prefer, this shampoo comes in a clarifying (which removes product build-up), ultra-mild (for sensitive scalps) and anti-dandruff versions.
Having ezcema, some shampoos can give me unattractive dandruff (and I have black hair!) and an itchy scalp, which is only cleared up with expensive specialist shampoos. Thankfully Pantene doesn't irritate at all, and I have about the most sensitive skin you'll ever find so I doubt this will cause problems, regardless of your skin and hair type.
Overall, this is a great product which works really well - especially considering the price! The thing is, with me, I prefer more products that are more scented, attractive and eye-catchingly packaged! Those shampoos are probably packed full of perfume and colourings, and are more expensive on account of their packaging, but they add that bit of excitement (er, maybe that's the wrong word!) to my boring daily washing rituals!
If you're after a basic shampoo which will do the job, for a low price, you can do a lot worse than Pantene! Prices range from £1.99 to £2.99, and is widely available being such a well-known brand.
(The ratings below seem to have mistaken this shampoo as a hairspray so ignore them!)
Advantages: Don't need much to make a lather. Disadvantages: None that I can find.
Pantene is a brand of hair care products owned by Procter & Gamble. It was created in 1947 by the Swiss drug manufacturer Hoffman-LaRoche. It was primarily a European company until it acquired by Richardson-vicks in 1983. They expanded the product line to 100 products which were mainly sold in salons and department stores.
I've never really liked Pantene products very much, I've always found my hair gets greasy very quickly after using it. I have ... ...blue lid. It has the pantene logo on the front along with the type of shampoo it is (Time Renewal). The lid makes it very easy to use this shampoo, you press on one side of the top of the lid and it goes down revealing on the other side, which has popped up, a slot in which the shampoo comes out of.
On the back of the bottle is a little information about the product, directions on how to use it and the ingredients.

Advantages: Pantene has a very well priced special offer on at the moment. However, I have always used Organic's Disadvantages: Do you stick with what you know, or does price have to intervene?
Organic’s –v- Pantene Pro V
My daughter and I both have long hair. Mine is wavy so it tends to frizz at the ends, particularly when the sun bleaches it in summer. My daughters hair is much curlier, and can fall into tendrils if treated correctly, otherwise it too, frizzes. Therefore, I have to be very careful about the shampoo and conditioners I choose to treat our hair kindly.
Product A. Organic's shampoo and conditioner with essential ... ...out!
Product B. Pantene PRO v – Perfect Curls
So after raving on about Organic’s you may be wondering why I am even looking at Pantene at all.
Well until recently, I have to admit I had not. However, on a recent trip to Sainsburys I noticed they had a special offer on this product. Now, as I said earlier, I have to be careful, but the offer was too good to miss, so I thought, why not? Therefore, throwing caution and a few squid to ...

...lift. I used to use Pantene regularly about a year ago and found it very good, but I have recently bought the new Pantene and i am truly disappointed. I have used it three times now and have found that my hair gets dirty very quickly - by the end of the day! I have never experienced this before apart from the time i tried using a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner, which was disgusting (but that's a different story)! The new Pantene has the same effect ... ...have done to the old Pantene to get this new one needs to be undone! Using it has left my hair feeling heavy and greasy by the end of the day, meaning i have to wash it more often and which in turn is a bad move healthwise, especially for fine hair!
Thankfully i bought small bottles to try them out - i am always sceptical these days of companies launching 'new and improved' products - they tend to be worse overall in my experience. I won't be buying ...

Advantages: good price, pleasent smell Disadvantages: terrible results, awful buildup, and my hair fell out
WHAT IS PANTENE? Pantene is a well-known brand of hair products, sold at drugstores around the world.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
The texture of most Pantene products is quite creamy, runny, and an off-white shiny colour. I find it to be a little heavy for my hair.
WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE?
Most Pantene products I have tried smell very nice, but it's a smell I can't put my finger on. Have you ever smelled a barbie doll's hair? It smells a lot like ... ...not sure how much ALL Pantene products cost, but the 2-in-1s, shampoos and conditioners, are all about 5.99 (CAD) which is quite reasonable.
I've used an exchange rate website to see how much they cost in Britain, and I came up with the price 2.45 (pounds). I am not sure how accurate this is so if it is wrong or right please leave me some comments and I will change it if necessary.
WHAT IS IT SUPPOSED TO DO?
Here are some claims from the website:

Advantages: Clean, silky feeling that lasts all day! Disadvantages: Build up of residues on scalp
I have been using pantene on and off for years now, and I have to say that ouuut of all the brands I have used (and that's a lot)Pantene has to be my favourite. It smells really nice, it's good value for money and it makes my hair feel fantastic. Pantene makes my hair feel soft and shiny and it keeps that clean, just washed feelingall day long.
The only problem is that pantene tends to build up residues in my hair making it feel dull and lifeless ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Can seriously screw up your hair!!
Hi fellow Ciaoers!! Now I bet you guys are thinking...what's the problem with Pantene shampoos, conditioners and any other product Pantene have brought out!
Well that's what this review is for!
I am a natural red head with long hair that goes down to the middle of my back. At present I am trying to grow it and often need to get it trimmed to avoid getting split ends.
Being naughty, I don't go to the hairdressers as often as I should, but a couple of weeks ago I went to get a cut.
During the process of washing it, the hairdresser said to me...."What kind of Shampoo and Conditioner do you use?"
I said..."Pantene"
Let me put it this way...that did not seem to sit well with this woman. Don't get me wrong she is a lovely lady and has been hairdressing for more than 30 years.
I said..."What's the problem"
She said ...
Advantages: Unlike other frizz aids this is cheaper and I thought more effective Disadvantages: I was disappointed with the hair spray but other than that it was all very good.

PERFECT CURLS-CURL DEFINITION SPRAY,(150ml about £2.50 from any good retailer,Boots,Asda,Superdrug etc)VERY VERY GOOD! deffinately the best product from the range. you use it on damp hair, then blow-dry,you can see the results. Also used to rejuvinate curls. Not much ...

As there is no category for Timotei Revitalising Herbs Shampoo for normal hair, I am writing it in this section.
I have previously written a review on PantenePro-V. Writing this new opinion on Timotei does not mean that I have changed my mind about it at all. I simply believe that it is important to change your shampoo every so often because your hair becomes used to it and the product becomes less effective. You definitely notice the difference the first time you use a new shampoo and this is why I opted for a change.
Timotei is made under French company Lever Faberge. It has been around for years. I remember when I was younger and Timotei was a popular choice for many people. Nowadays it has lost its market due to the introduction of many other brands of shampoo. It has come back with a new look, but has kept the same formula ...
