Papa Johns Pizza

Being a Domino Pizza fan I was excited to hear of the opening of 3 new pizza takeaways of the Papa John brand in my area.

I went along straight away to one and was pleased to discover that despite not recognising the name, they obviously had very high standards. A wide menu with the promise of all natural, fresh ingredients. I had to try one.

Ordering the old favourite, Ham and Pineapple, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a light, freshly made base with generous amounts of topping. Since then I haven't been back to Dominos.

In objective terms Papa Johns are the best tasting pizzas I have bought from a takeaway, in particular the bases are outstanding - obviously very fresh. They do lack however on type of base, offering only standard and thin and crispy (no stuffed crusts here).

Pricing is very competitive, being cheaper than rivals Dominos and Pizza Hut. They also offer a host of great deals, for example if collected students get two pizzas (any size) for the price of one. Delivery packages, with drinks, ice cream and sides are also avaialable.

This is the one area where Papa Johns slightly fail. In peak times, Friday-Saturday nights, delivery times can sometimes be quite long. I imagine this is because they are new outlets and hopefully it will speed up soon.

In conclusion, if you're a pizza fan and you notice a Papa Johns open in your area, don't miss it! I'm a Domino convert and I urge you to become one too. Amen to that.
