I work 6 days a week and saturday is my long day. I start at 6:30 AM and usually finish about 4PM. So cooking is not on the menu and we have take away. Pizza is the boys favourite and we have tried most of them. We have tried the well known ones and independent ones and i find some of them expensive and the menus very limited. Especially the side orders.
A friend of ours recommended this one. I had never heard of them before and was surprised that we had one not far from us that would deliver.
BRIEF HISTORY ------------------------- Papa johns was founded in America ( no surprise there!)It is the third largest pizza seller in the states. It was started by a man called John Schnatter who worked in pizza restaurants while going to uni. He took over his dads pub and started to make an sell pizzas. This was very succesful and in 1985 he opened his first restaurant. He now has over 3,000 branches and now avaliable in the UK.
NUTRITION ------------------- They do
say that all pizza's are freshly made including the dough. All ingredients are the best quality and fresh. I can't comment for sure but they do taste good.
MENU ---------- The pizzas have the usual bases : Deep pan, Original & thin crust. They have 3 sizes of pizza : Small 10", Medium 12" & Extra large 14". You can create your own pizza from a large list of ingredients or have one from the set menu:
HAWAIIAN: ham & pineapple
FARMHOUSE: ham & mushroom
ALL THE MEATS: Beef, ham, pepperoni, sausage & bacon
They also have a guest pizza which they change regulary.
The best thing is they have a kids meal, which is a 6" pizza, fruit shoot & muffin all for £3. 49.
I usually find pizza a bit heavy and can make me feel bloated very quickly but these ones are not so heavy and you can actually taste the topping and not just the sauce and dough. All pizza's come with 2 dipping sauces, a garlic butter one and a tomato one. To dip the crusts.
The best side for me is the garlic cheesesticks. These look like a very thin pizza cut into long slices covered with cheese. They taste great but they don't last long in our house!
DRINKS ------------- All the usual suspects are here including fruit shoots for the kids.
PRICE ------------ I do feel they are quite reasonable Small pizza's 5.99-8.99 Medium pizza's 7.99-11.99 Extra large 9.70-13.99
I do feel some of the sides are a bit expensive like 4.99 for the ribs and 4.99 for the prawns but you do get quite a lot. The sides range between 1.65-4.99
They also do have a lot of special offers and take away meal deals that are very good. we can usually feed to four of us for £20 including side orders and we do use the special offers, and get delivery.
The desserts range from 89p-£4.19 the most expensive is the Ben & jerrys ice cream.
STAFF ----------- I have always found the staff to be helpful and polite. Especially the delivery men. If there has been a mistake , which i must admit hasn't happened often they have rectified it quickly and politely. The food is always hot when it arrives and always in the time they have said.
LOCATION ------------------ I do think they should advertise more, like i said i didn't even know they existed. There isn't as many as some of the more well known pizza places but they are country wide. You can check on the website www.papajohns.co.uk to see if there is one near you. In a lot of places yoy can order on line as well but this is not avaliable in my area.
The only thing i would say that they could do with is a pasta selection but then they are a pizza place so i shouldn't really be surprised they don't.
I am very pleased we took this recommendation, we have been using them for nearly a year with no problems. I know there is a lot of focus on nutrition for kids but my boys eat healthy 6 days a week so i think it's ok to have a treat once a week and they really enjoy this one.

I can't say I've heard of this chain before. They can't have one near me (that I've noticed!)
