Dont Bull im armed with Parkers.

Advantages: Can find you a real bargain
Disadvantages: Pricey, only published monthly.

Advertisements.

These are kept to a minimum there are exactly 3 pages of advertisements which is far from many. Some of the advertisements can be help as ...
...cost loans’ and ‘parts and labour mechanical insurance’.

Index.

On page 3 each there is an index with each manufacturer with the page number to find certain cars quickly. Most of the cars only have a few pages so it’s easy to find most. Personally I don’t bother with the index as all the pages are in alphabetical order.

News from the market place.

Calling all nosey parkers

Advantages: Packed with loads of infor
Disadvantages: None

For anyone who is intending to purchase a new or used car I would wholeheartedly recommend buying Parkers Used & New Car Chooser. This magazine is produced every couple of months and costs Ģ3.30. A bit steep you might be thinking, but you get a lot for you money, believe me. This magazine is an essential guide to finding the right car and reviews every popular model. It contains a used car buyer's checklist, giving you a detailed list of what you ...
...that you think you might like. Firstly: Phone Up Questions to ask: "Tell me about the car?" - check that the details tally with the ad "Is there a full service history?" "How long is the MOT?" "Any accident damage?" "Can I drive the car?" (You may need to arrange your own insurance cover) Be polite, but don't bother to view if you get evasive answers. Secondly: Arrange to view Only view the car at a seller's home Take someone with you ...

Parkers guide contains listings about all cars ranging from engine size to insurance group to trim level. It is quite essential if you are wanting to buy a new car but don't have your heart set on a particular model you want to choose and check out all aspects. Compact and packed with detail

Advantages: Full of detail for a vast range of cars
Disadvantages: No pictures

This is a fantastic pack of car price details that is a boom to the private purchaser. It covers a vast range of cars, and delves into the details of different models, giving fuel consumption, sizes, insurance groups and more. The prices are given for cars in different conditions, and includes a trade estimate. All in all, the best way to get to know what should be paid for a vehicle. It lacks much in the way of pictures, but that really does not ...
...know what the thing looks like! Of course, there is bound to be a difference between what the guide says, and what the advertised price is. But there is always a 'hagglin' amount added by the seller. So, use the guide to give you knowledge of how much to be prepared to bargain. The most difficult will be trade buys. Overall, the guide gives a very good insight into prices for a vast range of cars. ...

Reliability Above All Else

Advantages: Totally reliable
Disadvantages: Style and excitement in short supply (so they say..)

? The best marque is always the one they?re selling. ?Oh, yes, Sir, these are BY FAR the most reliable cars on the market. They outperform BMW by miles. Drive one of these, Sir, you?d never think of BMW or Mercedes again. Oh yes, sir, wonderful stereo system ? and you wouldn?t believe the range of colours?? So I ended up in Sainsbury?s, buying a copy of Parker?s Guide, which gives as objective a view of all available cars as I think you?ll find. Having read it from cover to cover I then headed for my nearest Toyota dealer, that appearing to be the best of all possible worlds as far as a combination of my available budget and Parker?s available wisdom indicated. I found just what we both wanted: a Toyota Corolla (?the world?s favourite car?), a car renowned for its reliability, with a high quality stereo system and the right colour (a sort ...

Like Banging Your Head - Great When It Stops

Advantages: Stands Out In A Crowd (Literally). Cheap to buy 2nd hand, cheapish to insure
Disadvantages: BAD ride. Bad handling. Poor fuel comsumption for engine size.

my reservations, but my wife was in love with it straightaway. Since she was destined to be the principal driver, who was I to argue – and she was right, she could get a lot of shopping in it! THE GOOD NEWS So what makes it the best (YELLOW) car we’ve ever had? It was bright YELLOW. It was cheap to buy and insure. It was my wife’s first (YELLOW) car. It was very easy to find in Tesco’s carpark, being taller and YELLOWer than most cars. It had “tall” profile tyres, saving me a fortune in mangled hub caps – Mrs BN is not the world’s best parker, and tends to use kerbs as a physical guide to parking accuracy! Should have been a tram driver – come to think of it, they’re making a comeback, and she’s been looking for an “out” from teaching! This ...

A German I Really Really Like

Advantages: Smooth Engine, Handling, Refinement
Disadvantages: Pricey Parts

snobby, but when I detect that I let them know about it. I’m sorry, but I have little time for snobbery. Tech Specs -------------- 523i SE – 2494cc 170bhp, 245Nm Max Torque @ 3950rpm 6 cylinder in line. (smooth as pouring cream) Max Speed: 142mph 0 – 60mph: 8.5secs Average Consumption: 28.8mpg The mpg figure I quoted above was taken from a Parkers guide. My car’s average consumption computer indicates a figure closer to 26mpg. Interior -------- Aha, now the best bits………….The interior of this car is a lesson in straight forward thinking. Everything falls to hand, the dash plays host to an uncluttered and easy to use stereo with a big volume knob. I have the ‘lovely to hold’ M-Tec steering wheel which has the volume control and radio station selection ...
