Hi

Find ing the right used car for the right price can somtimes be a bit of a problem,
This is were parkers comes in, i work in the car auction industry and for private buyers the whole process can be a little bit scary, parkers offer you the chance to check out what price you should be paying for used cars it rates the prices in order with the condition of the vehicles

So always check the fluid levels on a used car , such as the water and the oil in the engine make sure its not creamy, the means the head gasket has gone and it will cost nbetween £200 and £500 pounds, depending on the make of car you choose
as well as checking the car for damage such as dents and rust

So check the condition and then match it with the guide in parkers stick to your limit and don't go over it, i have seen people getting carried away and spending £400 and £500 more than they had planned for.

Also take into account auctions charge a fee for selling the vehicle get this price before you bid.

When you start to bid, let the Auctioneer see you the first time by putting your hand in the air, the Auctioneer knows then you interested, he will keep looking at you throughout the bidding process, so if you want to bid again, when he looks your way just nod your head, and he will think you have done this thing before and you wont look like an amateur,

And never look to eager to bid, the Auctioneers just love this, don't enter the bidding at the start, wait till he is stuck on the price near the end of the bidding, to split a bid from £100 to £50, or £50 to £25, just draw your hand under your throat ( As if to cut your throat) and you will find he reduces the bids.

I would say the auction is the best place to buy a used car, as thats were most of the private listings come from, these guys can put £200 to £1000 on top of the auction price, so get a parkers guide check the auction charges and the condition of the vechicle and you will end up with a very chaep and trust worthy vehicle.

Hpe you find this useful

Good luck!!

You have some good tips. It might be easier to read if you spread your points out a bit. Use paragraphs and spaces. Welcome to Ciao
