Review of The Parent's Guide to Protecting Your Children in Cyberspace - Parry Aftab by jonwhite

Advantages: written in plain English, easy to follow, covers subjects in depth
Disadvantages: None

...We all know that there is a seedier side to the Internet other than it’s use as an educational tool. There are hidden dangers lurking out there which, if you are a parent, you will want to protect your children from. There are many well known products which will help you to do the job, Net Nanny and Cyber Patrol to name but two. It is quite frightening what you can access without even trying. Pornography is often thrust upon you and you can stumble across it unknowingly. Now further help is at hand in the form of a book entitled The Parent’s Guide to Protecting Your Children in Cyberspace. It is a God send to all parents who are concerned with protecting their children whenever they are online. This excellent publication is written by Parry Aftab, a founder member of Cyber Angels, a group of people dedicated to protecting... Read review

Review of For Love of Evil - Piers Anthony by oakleigh

Advantages: Can be read as a stand alone book
Disadvantages: It is much better when read as part of the series.

...a good tutor for anyone who wants to learn how to lie effectively!!! In my opinion the characters that piers writes about are well formed and can easily be imagined and related to. The book's he writes will often bring about audible laughter and sometimes even tears. ************MAIN CHARACTERS IN FOR LOVE OF EVIL********** parry= He is the main character, the book follows him as he progresses through life beginning as the sorcerers son, later becoming a friar named father grief and finally is corrupted enough to take the position of the lord of Evil named Satan. Sorcerer= Parry's adoptive father Jolie= when we first meet Jolie we find that she is a peasant, she is also to become parry's wife. Fabiola= A peasant who has been tortured and forced to give false evidence. Lord Bofort= Cohort of Satan, commtting evil in the name of God. He... Read review

Ground breaking
Review of Breaking the Barriers to Desire - Claire Parry, Kevin Lano by NeilHudson

Advantages: Well thought out
Disadvantages: Not every article is interesting or relevant

..."Breaking the Barriers to Desire" is a book on the theory and practice of a strangely ignored subject in western society - non-monogamy. Subjects like this can easily dissolve into Cosmopolitan-style titillation but fortunately Lano and Parry seem to have avoided this. The book is concerned only with responsible non-monogamy, ie where all those concerned agree, rather than the standard practice of "having an affair". It is divided into two sections on theory and practice (rather silly in a book that keeps complaining about dichotomies) and it goes without saying that the "practice" section is the more valuable; personal accounts of how responsible non-monogamy has worked, and not worked, in reality. Standouts here are Alison Rowan's "How not to be monogamous" which makes the useful point that just because a relationship ended doesn... Read review
