Advantages: Very enjoyable read Disadvantages: Could it be the last?
P D James has always been a favourite author of mine (although I admit that many years ago I thought P D James was male!).
About the author
Phyllis Dorothy James started writing in the mid 1950s and it wasn?t until 1962 that her book was published (Cover Her Face).
She was made Baroness James of Holland Park in 1991. She lives in London and Oxford and has two children.
The Private Patient
This latest offering has Adam Dalgliesh and his team investigating the murder of Rhoda Gradwyn.
Rhoda is an investigative journalist, who after years of living with a disfiguring and long-standing scar decides to book herself into a private clinic (Cheverell Manor) to have it removed.
What could possibly go wrong?!
As you would imagine in a P D James murder mystery all is not as it seems and the Cheverell Manor holds a deadly secret ...

Say hello to the poor man's Coca-Cola...or should that be, the health-conscious man's Coca-Cola...Coke Zero.
Rather than the famous red packaging, Coca Cola Zero comes in black packaging, be it in the 330ml cans, 500ml bottles or bigger. Now, and here's the controversial part - Coke Zero's stated ingredients vary in different countries. What we're drinking in the UK will differ to China for example ...

No matter how many reviews I read, no matter how many people tried to tell me otherwise, I refused myself to believe that a soft drink manufactured by coca cola had no sugar or fat content, despite a much convincing name! I struggled even more to come to terms with the fact that it had less than 1 calorie! This just seemed so unlikely and, in my mind, quite impossible!
Though, I'll never be one to turn to arrogance; I was prepared to open my mind and consider that this may well be the case. Perhaps, in this day in age where anything can happen, they had come up with alternatives and there really was a fizzy drink out there with such minor nutrition values! There was only one thing to do to rest my mind; see for myself!
Before our weekly trip to Asda, I added Coca Cola Zero to the shopping list. As we headed up the drinks aisle, my ...

Stephen King's claim to fame ; Superb atmosphere ; Sublime plot ; A vivid imagination that stretches all supernatural boundaries ; Probably responsible for some of the best horror films of the 70's and 80's
Some unessesary background in the first half ; Kubrik mucked up the story too much ; Could have been much more (*)
