Advantages Advantages Good serve and volley. Good from the baseline. Great top spin. Agile

Disadvantages Disadvantages Has suffered wrist and ankle injuries.

Australia, for a relatively small nation of just over 20 million, has produced an incredible array of hugely talented tennis players. Who can forget the great achievements of male players such as Rod Laver,Ashley Cooper, Lew Hoad, Ken Rosewall, Fred Stolle, John Newcombe, and Pat Cash ' Then there were great ladies such as Margaret Court and Evonne Goolagong, both Wimbledon champions. In recent years, another fine player from "Down Under" has graced the courts, yes, Pat Rafter, who has been Australia’s finest singles tennis player since John Newcombe. Pat was born on 28 December,1972 at Mount ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages injuries and possible retirement

The only sport that comes a fairly distant second to my love of motorsport, is tennis. There can be no denying that summer is upon us when Wimbledon fever hits the tv screens! So it was with pleasure that my 2 favourite tennis players reached this year’s Wimbledon final. Having thankfully and finally got rid of the ‘British Hopes’, I was left in a dilemma as to who to support – Pat Rafter of Goran Ivanisevic. No one can deny that Australian Pat Rafter is a popular choice in the tennis world with his rugged good looks (although these have diminished of late due to his ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Has had injures and forehand isn't the best.

Pat Rafter was thinking of quitting after the season has ended, but now he is having a six week break after the US Open, i am glad he isn't quitting, as he is a great player and can beat the top tennis players at anytime, with his game. Advantages Advantages very good player

    Disadvantages Disadvantages inconsistent, injuries

Pat Rafter the Australian who lost last year’s to Agassi but this year somehow managed to beat him, in a game where it seemed as though Agassi would come out on top. But the player who performed badly last year due to injury showed why he is regarded as a top player. Rafter never gave up, he hit back, and eventually won the game. He beat Agassi, the form man, this surely must mean he has a good chance of winning Wimbledon this year. He has never won Wimbledon but has two grand slam titles, they are the US open titles which he won in 1997 and 1998, he is also very good in doubles and won ... more

Advantages Advantages A really nice guy

Disadvantages Disadvantages did not win Wimbledon

Gday mate" said Pat Rafter when I met him at a Tennis open day in Tunbridge Wells about 4 years ago. I thought to myself,"typical Aussie.Corny lines". It was the opening of a new Tennis Centre of which my Father in Law is the manager and I got to hit a couple of balls over the net to him. I felt like a superstar for 30 seconds! But what suprised me about the guy was how nice and genuine he was. I can see why so many people got behind him at Wimbledon. He really is as nice as he seems on the TV. Signing autographs, posing for pics with people and cracking gags with his dry humour. But he is ... more
