Paul mitchell have a similar product called heat seal which instead of conditioning has a light hold. I much prefer seal and shine as it is very good for dry hair like mine.
I would reccommend to use on the hair when using straighteners, hairdryers, curling tongs ,wavers and any other heated appliances.
