Advantages: Some good characters and hint of better to come in rest of series! Disadvantages: Clunky plot and dialogue, boring.

Well where do I start with this! I was really looking forward to reading this book and in the expectation of it being a brilliant series I bought a pack with the whole Belgariad and Malloreon series as well as the accompanying extra books Belgarath the Sorcerer, Polgara the Sorceress and the Rivan Codex for a very bargainous price!

This book revolves around the life of the main character, a humble servant boy on Faldor's Farm called Garion. The premise is that he lives a very simple life with his Aunt Pol as his parents both died when he was a baby.
