The Peak District - Explore its beauty

Advantages: Amazing Scenery
Disadvantages: Can be busy at popular times

I suppose that most of us would like to think that we do not take too many things for granted, but in truth if we actually sit down and think our own individual lives I guess that we all have something that is enviable to others. I live and work in the centre of Sheffield, the fifth largest city in Britain and not unlike most of the other cities in the UK yet if you make a short journey of only a few miles out of the city centre then you are in the Peak District with it round green rolling hills, breathtaking scenery and its picturesque little villages. The Peak District is now one of 15 National Parks in Britain; it was set up in 1951 and is actually the oldest of all of the National Parks. It is situated between Manchester in the West and Sheffield to the East and incorporates much of the Pennines Hills, which extend down to ...

Win Hill in the Peak District National Park

Advantages: Lovely clean air, fantastic views
Disadvantages: A very steep climb to the top

The Peak District National Park is as famous for its hills as it is for its picturesque valleys and villages. These hills and mountains form the bottom part of the mountain range known as the Pennines, that vertically dissects England like a scar. These mountains vary greatly in both shape and height, with the dark, barren plateaux and peaks generally being referred to as the "Dark Peak" and the higher more mountainous areas being referred to as the "High Peak". Win Hill is an example of one of the areas within the "High Peak" and this is undoubtedly one of my favourite areas within the whole region. The first thing to note about Win Hill is its very distinctive shape. It is a very steep sided mountain that tapers to a fine point, giving it a cone-like appearance. This appearance has established it as a very well known landmark. Due ...

Review of Win Hill in the Peak District, Derbyshire

The Conduit is the graphical masterpiece it was promised to be...

Advantages: Superb graphics, Fun gameplay, Surprising longevity for a FPS, Amazing multiplayer.
Disadvantages: Some extra achievements would of elevated the longevity significantly.

of human enemies who have been painfully deatomised. All the sound effects are fully appropriate and of very good quality, varying the sound of gunfire depending on distance (making gunfire much less repetitive) The other sounds are the voice acting which is also of a high quality, Kevin Sorbo deserves notable praise as the voice of Prometheus. The music is very good quality but is not spectacularly good like some other games already on the Wii. 4/5 Longevity If The Conduit does have any negative points, it is the longevity. A newcomer to the game, with the game on normal difficulty, should complete the game in 6-9 hours, naturally this will vary upon the gamer?s skill. There are two collectable items in game, the first are readable wall messages (they need to be translated by the ASE), they are often referring to moments in ...
