I have been a Pearl customer for over ten years now and have to say that over the years the quality of service has declined. Initially when I took out policies with them, someone came out to speak to you then you made your payments monthly and that was it. Now whilst I do see the need to update your financial matters regularly I detest pressure from company reps.
I have to say that they have got to the point of making me decide never ... ...The final straw was when they wanted to come out to see me about a week before Christmas, apparently to give me some important advice about my policy, I challenged the Secretary who had phoned me as to what that information was. I told her that being so near to Christmas I just couldn't spare the time. She informed me that I could not be given this info over the phone.

When I finally managed to speak to him he had to admit to me that in actual fact he had no info for me, that it was just a way to get into the house to do a financial review and obviously try to sell me something or other. I was furious. Last week I received the same call again from a Secretary at the head office telling me that there was important info about my policy. I just told her straight, that I didn't want anyone coming out under false pretences.
I would not recommend anyone to this company in light of this.

Quick review of Pearl Assurance plc
I recently had a pay out for my Grandson's policy -a total disaster with a massive loss from my investment for him.
As a consequence I have surrended two other policies and will be investing the money in a building society on behalf of my other grandchildren. No profits have been paid out for years. But do the staff partake of these massive bonuses one hears about?
My advice would be not to even think about this company for investment.

Quick review of Pearl Assurance plc
Like another reveiwer, I also took policies out for my son's but when the first matured this week it was a total loss. This was sold to me ten years ago as a 'Saverplan' but it has lost money and the actual figure I received was £300+ less than I had paid in. Pearl are not interested, do not answer letters, return phone calls or give requested information. My sons have lost out but I bet staff and managers at Pearl HAVE NOT, DO NOT TOUCH THEM!!!!!! ...

Having been a Pearl customer for over 30 years, the service has declined to nil since the sale of the Pearl to the Australian company AMP.
This is the only company I have come across in recent years that will not accept payment via it's local representative for car insurance when due and will not provide a receipt for payments made.
This was a good company when it was the Pearl but has been ruined by an Australian company who just won't listen ...

Advantages: There are none Disadvantages: Too many to list here.
...way through my investment period Pearl decided to alter the way my fund was being invested. This was due to the fact that the stock market had crashed and they felt it prudent to protect my investment from any future falls. Basically they kept my funds in the stockmarket during the 'crash period' then took them out so that the fund was not able to enjoy any of the turnaround that occurred over the next 5 years. My fund had now been reinvested in'safer' ... ...of this Pearl cancelled all yearly bonuses that 'with profits policies' had previously enjoyed and also gave no termination bonus. I would strongly advise anyone who is considering investing with this company to go else where, they are charlatans, fraudsters and liars.
