This was given to me as a gift way back in the summer time but I've waited until the dark nights to light and use it!

~ Price ~

I have since seen this large scented candle by Pecksniff's for £15. What a price to pay for a candle, needless to say I was expecting high quality scent and glow!!

~ Packaging ~

The candle came in an impressive, sturdy black box with a little bit of light beige around it.

Inside there was a brown looking candle in a sturdy glass jar (approx 9cm tall) with the brand name on the front and the usual words of warning about candles!

~ My Candle ~

I was given the 'grapefruit & nutmeg' scent. An odd combination but liking the smell of both individually I wasn't put off.

The candle is intended to last approx 60 hours and so far it hasn't let me down. So many other scented candles that I have had just burn away in to nothing in one full evening and night but this has lasted a fortnight now with I would approx 4 hours use per night and it's just coming near the bottom of it.

That is the problem that I am having. I don't have a specific candle lighter / taper so I use a bog standard lighter to light the wick which is quite low down the glass at the moment so get a few little hot burns on my finger as I'm trying to light the wick with the glass on an angle etc..

So it burns efficiently, how about the smell?

I have to say that this candle doesn't fill the room with a definite scent. You can smell it if you put your nose near to the candle which isn't really that much good!
As for the weak scent.......... there isn't a hint of grapefruit anywhere although there is a slight aroma of nutmeg.

The glass has now become slightly black around one side of the top rim which is easily wiped off but looks a bit unsightly if it isn't. Hopefully the photo will show this!

~ My Verdict ~

All I can say is that I am so pleased that I didn't pay £15 for this. It doesn't freshen the room and give it a nice wintery glowing smell. The two advantages are: the packaging & the length of time it lasts but the disadvantages hugely outweigh the advantages.

It's a totally over-priced candle for what it does!
