Advantages Advantages Fred Likes Them. Great Advertising.

Disadvantages Disadvantages High Fat Content. Not convinced they are as effective as the advertising!

It is a little while now since Fred and I last produced a review together, that being about his Pac-a-Yap rainproof jacket, a product that he remains less than 100% sold on. That could also be argued of this particular treat as he will, in due course tell you. WHAT, EXACTLY, ARE DENTASTIX? DentaStix are a dietary supplement – or treat, depending on your point of view – manufactured by the renowned Pedigree Petfoods Company - to aid your dog’s oral hygene. All are moulded into a stick, taking the form of an “X”, or “+” I guess depending which way you hold it. Three different lengths are sold ... more

Advantages Advantages helps to clean teeth, stop bad breath, and prevent health problems before they start.

Disadvantages Disadvantages not really suitable for toy breeds, can make small dogs gain weight.

Last July my Mum's 2 Chihuahuas had a litter of 4 pups. I fell in love with one of them, and by the time they were ready to leave their Mum at the start of October, we ended up with a Chihuahua of our very own. While my parents have always had dogs as pets, and I spend a lot of time at their house playing with them, we have been cat owners, so I was not really sure what sort of thing that I should be doing with my new fur baby. We are very familiar with the need for pets to have some sort of dental routine. Unfortunately our cat has a gum problem which needs some vetinary intervention. We did ... more

Advantages Advantages Good for dogs teeth and gums, dogs enjoy them

Disadvantages Disadvantages Packet does not re-seal

I enjoy spoiling my girlfriend dogs and we always have lots of dog treats in the cupboards. One treat we have at home at the moment are Pedigree Denta Stix. As you will see after reading this review these are not just dog treat’s, they also have a few other advantages. Packaging Pedigree Denta Stix come in yellow packaging with the Pedigree logo (the ribbon) on the front at the top. Once the packet has been opened, there is no way of re-sealing it so you may need to store the treats in an ait tight container. Price I buy these treats from Tesco where they are available in two different sizes ... more

Advantages Advantages Makes for a happy dog and a happier owner,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly expensive but worth every penny

I have had dogs around all my life and, whilst being attached to them all, I never remember, in the dim and distant days of my childhood, that we did any more than ensured they had their puppy injections, fed them (often supplementing tin food with all our scraps), walked them and treated them to the occasional bath and grooming if they came back stinking of cow manure! Certainly we never cleaned their teeth or took them for regular dental checkups! However, some 8 years ago my present dog, Woody, was diagnosed with a severe gum infection which a course of antibiotics failed to clear. It was ... more

Advantages Advantages good for your dogs teeth

Disadvantages Disadvantages packet is not re-sealable

It was my dog Marley's 3rd birthday yesterday and I bought him Pedigree Denta Stix as a present, as not only is this a treat, it also has a few other benefits. Packaging The Pedigree Denta Stix come in a yellow packet with a dog on the front. The Pedigree logo is also on the front of the packaging at the top. You get 7 Denta Stix in the packet which is a bit of an odd number but I assume this would provide one for every day of the week. Unfortunately the packet does not reseal so you might like to keep the spare stick's in a seal tight container to keep them fresh. The Denta Stix The Denta ... more
