...I got this free with my laptop and have only used it a few times but have found it to be useful for your laptop secure from thieves. It locks into the side of your laptop its name is a security slot and is only released with a key or in other models a number lock. At two meters in length its should always reach where you need it to go. So if you're on the go this is how you do should protect your laptop from being stolen. Advantages: Easy to fit and seems strong enough to deter opportunist thiefs.
Disadvantages: Is a little cumbersome, but is worth it for the security.

...I have had this product about a month now, I use my Laptop at work and at home so am always on the move with it. About 3 months ago when I was out to lunch I had left my Laptop on my desk, only to return to find it had been stolen, I was very annoyed but luckily I had insured it against theft so i got a replacement. I purchased this lock because I had had enough of packing up my laptop and locking it in my drawer everytime i went out of the office! This lock is very quick and easy to fit and not only acts as a visual deterrent, it also acts as a physical one, the cable is very strong, and long enough so i can actually secure it to the desk. Advantages: Universal fitting, nice bag for carrying and not to heavy, very strong
Disadvantages: None other than the fact that we have to use one!

...I am the IT Support in our open plan office of 80 plus employees, we have several different makes and models of laptop and I was given the task of sourcing a cheap way to secure them all. I looked at the other mainstream alternative but at around £30 was a bit steep to buy, especially as I needed more than 20 of them. Then I saw the Belkin, it is very strong, easy to secure and fits all models that come with the Kensington hole. It gives you a lot of flexibility once secured, which I find handy as I often have to turn the laptops over for various work requirements, the padlock is very reassuring and the length of cable makes fitting round a desk leg very easy.
