Advantages: Image adjustments to give great view, waterproof, adjustable eye-relief Disadvantages: fixed magnification, average build and design quality
. But with the use of the Bak-4 prism, the small size of the lens is deemed unimportant.
All-in-all the Olympus 8X25WP I binoculars are great for camping trips or for destinations with pleasant views. And with the range of features to make your viewing experience all the more easier as well as being waterproof, it can prove to be money well spent. Other binoculars, which are in the same price range are fairly similar but have the disadvantage of not being waterproof. Advantages: Large display screen, easy to use Disadvantages: I haven't found any
I was given the Pentax Optio S10 as a birthday present 2 months ago to replace my film camera and quite honestly I was convinced I would hate it and thought it was far too small and would be fiddly and not take photos as good as my SLR.
Well I have to say I've been made to eat my words, Firstly the quality of the pictures is totally amazing, very crisp and clear, even when printed at A4 size they don't lose any clarity.
The display screen is much larger than on many small digital cameras and makes it easy to use.
The controls are very easy to use, when you click onto the mode screen there is a clear symbol for each type of operation and when you click on it, it gives a brief description of what it does which saves from having to consult the manual all the time.
The battery life is a real plus as I'd heard that many digital cameras ...
Advantages: Waterproof, pocket-sized and decent pictures Disadvantages: Clearly not as good as a digital SLR and some features are rather gimicky
.
We had previously looked into whether there was a camera available that was designed for travel, something that offered a bit of bump protection and, maybe even a splashproof facility. Unless we wanted to spend an additional £100 (at the time) on a waterproof case for a standard camera (which would make the whole as bulky as our existing Kodak) it seemed that there was a hole in the market. That was until we discovered the Pentax Optio WP. It was new on the market at the time and there was little written about it. As it was no more expensive than most of the other compacts from the major photography houses we decided to make the leap. We've no regrets.
The camera itself comes in at a tiny 102 x 51 x 22mm (WxHxD) weighs 120g and is made from rather sturdy plastic. It feels great in the hands and certainly more robust than many ...
