I was given the Pentax Optio S10 as a birthday present 2 months ago to replace my film camera and quite honestly I was convinced I would hate it and thought it was far too small and would be fiddly and not take photos as good as my SLR.
Well I have to say I've been made to eat my words, Firstly the quality of the pictures is totally amazing, very crisp and clear, even when printed at A4 size they don't lose any clarity.
The display screen is much larger than on many small digital cameras and makes it easy to use.
The controls are very easy to use, when you click onto the mode screen there is a clear symbol for each type of operation and when you click on it, it gives a brief description of what it does which saves from having to consult the manual all the time.
The battery life is a real plus as I'd heard that many digital cameras ...
Advantages: Extreme weather seals, image stabalisation, dust removal, SV and MTF Disadvantages: Not for beginners, hi ISO noise
I spent a year looking for my first DSLR and had decided to save up for a Nikon D200. I was looking to enter the low end of the pro market so that my camera had enough challenge about it, but after awhile I realised that the D200 was going to cost me about £1000 just to get started which would have meant another year of saving up. Then came the reviews of the Pentax K10D in the Magazines and their view was that it compares very closely to the Nikon D200.
I looked around and found a great deal at £615.00 with kit lens and 1gig extreme III SD card and the screw on battery pack.
I set the camera up and was blown away by the image quality on minimal settings. I couldn't have asked for a better camera to start off with really but it's not for total beginners as there are no scene modes. ...

Samsung NC10 has a great compact design with very less weight of 2.8 lbs. the long battery life enables to surf the web for hours on end. The 6-cell Lithium battery provides revolutionary battery life with up to 6 hours of continuous use. LCD display of 10.2" wide SuperBright display has an amazing 1024x600 WSVGA resolution, anti-glare finish and great viewing angles. Images you see are vibrant and rich with bold color. the storage capacity is high There's plenty of room for everything you download from the web with 160 GB of hard disk drive storage. Plus, quick system boot-up and fast access to stored information dont make us to wait for longer times over all this is a great lap top to buy. ...
