Pentax lenses are the best in the world and what with our experience of the superb build quality and 100% reliability we were very excited to be offered the S10 - I am pleased to say that this does not disappoint! Out of the box we got the camera, a case, a wrist strap, all the necessary cables and software, battery, manuals galore and a charger.
The most important thing to mention is that the Pentax Optio S10 is so ... ...Incidentally, it has the famous Pentax 'sliding lens' system, which allows the lens to fully retract inside the camera when switched off.
You can choose between six image sizes ranging from 640x480 to 2560x1920, There are three different quality settings as well. The maximum image (resolution) size is 2560x1920 pixels. Do bear this in mind when choosing your camera because the higher the resolution, the higher the quality of the pictures.

It has 10 megapixels and takes amazing photos! You can choose which quality you want to take you pictures and videos in. Theres different modes; automatic, pet mode, landscape etc. My favourite is the pet mode. It even asks you whether its a cat or a dog and them what colour their fur is!
If you zoom right in you lose a little of the picture quality, but thats to be expected, its not a DSLR after ... ...sound effects and you can alter the sharpness, saturation, brightness and contrast etc so is great if you're one of those people who likes their pictures just so. I didn't read the instruction manual (I very rarely do) and I can use it with ease.Theres also pictbridge so you can print straight off your camera. I had a printer from my old camera and it works through that which is great.

I was given the Pentax Optio S10 as a birthday present 2 months ago to replace my film camera and quite honestly I was convinced I would hate it and thought it was far too small and would be fiddly and not take photos as good as my SLR. Well I have to say I've been made to eat my words, Firstly the quality of the pictures is totally amazing, very crisp and clear, even when printed at A4 size they don't lose any clarity. The display screen is much ... ...easy to use. The controls are very easy to use, when you click onto the mode screen there is a clear symbol for each type of operation and when you click on it, it gives a brief description of what it does which saves from having to consult the manual all the time.
The battery life is a real plus as I'd heard that many digital cameras absolutely eat batterries. I took it on holiday and used it a lot and didn't need to charge it once.
