I thought everything was fine… I came back from a week away to find the cover notice had arrived but they had made mistakes on it! The date of when my named driver had passed their test was wrong. Rather than being less than a year as I had specifically stated it was over a year. Realising that if anything did happen while she was driving I rang them to explain the mistake!! After being put on hold and transferred a few times I eventually managed to explain the situation to someone! They said that it would cost extra if the named driver had less than a year’s driving experience! They said they would listen to the tapes of the phone call to see if it was my mistake or theirs, and if it turned out to be theirs they wouldn’t charge me the extra. They did not call me when they said they would to let me know what was happening, and during this time I did not know whether I was covered to drive the car! I rang them back, but they said that my case had been passed on to someone else and I would have to speak directly with them, but they weren’t in!! I eventually got in touch with this mystery person who said that there weren’t any tapes of the conversation because I had bought the policy on the Internet, so I would have to pay the extra money!!
I didn’t buy the policy on the internet because they lost my application, I did in the end buy the policy by telephone but they do not know what they are doing.
They are a useless company who don’t seem to have a clue about running a business. I would have preferred to pay a higher premium at a different company than had all the hassle and stress I have had from People’s Choice. They definitely are not my choice – and I’ll be looking else well next year. I don’t want the problems again!

After searching to save money on car insurance I found people's Choice who gave a very good cheap quote which I accepted.
I also pointed this out to my partner who changed his policy over to people's choice and saving money.
This was fantastic as we had saved nearly £200 with both policies overall
This was great until my partner was involved in an accident early this year
To be short he was driving to meet a friend and was met by another car ... ...my husbands car, the car then bounced off my husbands car and went head on into a car behind which contained a family with two children, thankfully they were not hurt.
Unfortuanlty the 86 year old lady who was driving the car died as a result of her injuries.
We call the insurance people who say they cannot help as it appears she may have died from a heart attack just before she hit our car, therefore we cannot claim on her insurance as they clause ...

...the cheapest quote was with Peoples Choice some £55 cheaper with the AA and with cover still through advantage insurance. I phoned the AA first to see if they would match the quote, they didn’t so I followed the instructions on the website and signed up to people choice. I was told payment was successful and I would receive my documents soon.
The next day I received an email informing me payment had been declined. I thought this was slightly ... ...nowhere near to it. I called the number in the email and basically ended up confirming all the same details I put onto the website. Apparently sometimes there is security which fail legitimate payments, I checked my online statement and saw that a payment had gone out this time annoying but I thought it was over.
I pretty much forgot all about it after that though, that was until a two weeks later when a rather nasty letter dropped through the door ...

Advantages: Low initial premium a year ago Disadvantages: Everything else
I originally chose this service because of the relatively low premium it offered. However, cheap and cheerful is definately not what this company is .... cheap and downright awkward maybe!! I recieved a phone call 9 months into my insurance period telling me that I owed the entire premium despite having set up a monthly direct debit, and that this needed to be paid ASAP. The person on the line was very unhelpful and it was me that ended up feeling ...

Advantages: Dealt with my claim within 48 hours Disadvantages: none
...why I initially went with Peoples Choice. However a couple of weeks ago, I thought I was going to end up fighting a loosing battle like you do with all other insurance companies when you make a claim. I skidded on a big puddle when we had all that rain the other weekend. I rang Peoples Choice as the entire front of the car had been smashed in. They were able to give me a courtesy car straight away and my car was in the repair garage the next day. ... ...was very shaken after the accident. The accident was at 7.30 in the morning, but I was amazed to find their Call Centre open and they dealt with it there and then instead having to fill lots of forms in or ring back during office hours. My car was repaired within a matter of days and the insurance company paid for the damage. It was a hassle free experience, well worth being insured with them. ...
