My search led me to pick up a bottle of Summer Fruits flavour Perfectly Clear still mineral water. At 25p for a 500ml bottle, I thought it was very cheap.

The flavour is described as Raspberry, blackberry and blackcurrant.
Not meaning to be picky but don't blackberries grow in September ie Autumn??
Not to worry, the "summer" fruits taste is exactly how I'd expect it to be. A nice mix of the different fruits with no one flavour ... more
I am not a big fan of water. It's boring. So I want to buy flavoured water and even then I'd prefer something choc-a-block with sugar and calories! Kate Moss I am not.
I've not really tried many flavoured waters before, mainly the Shapers ones you can get with the Boots meal deal but I was thirsty and if you've read my reviews before you'll know I'm a complete tightwad. So I was in Home Bargains looking for a drink that didn't come in a 5 litre bottle or wasn't Perrier (sparkling water - ugh!).
My search led me to pick up a bottle of Summer Fruits flavour Perfectly Clear still mineral water. At 25p for a 500ml bottle, I thought it was very cheap.
The drink comes in a perfectly clear bottle (hoho) with a sports cap top (those which you pull up with your teeth, take a swig, then push it back down. The label around the middle of the drink is also mainly clear but there is a ring of purplish tint around the middle. At the front, it says "Perfectly Clear Still" then the flavour and an image of very tasty looking fruit indeed. It is "made with spring water" and is "sugar free" and contains "less than one calorie per 100ml" a bonus if you're trying to lose weight!
____________________________________ Ingredients ____________________________________ The main ingredient is spring water but it also contains citric acid, sweeteners, flavours and preservatives. As with most drinks it "contains a source of phenylalanine" which I have now found out is an amino acid and when you have too much of it, it excites the neutrons in your brain to the point of cellular death. The phenylalanine is contained in the sweetener so don't drink vat-loads or you'll lose brain cells, not good!
There are just 0.6calories in 100ml that's 3 calories in a bottle (if my maths is right), which is about the same as the same amount of Diet Coke. As there's no sugar, there are no carbohydrates and there's no fat!
____________________________________ Taste ____________________________________ I tend to find flavoured waters are either too weak or too strong in their flavourings but Perfectly Clear was just right for me, although obviously as everyone has different tastes it may be wrong for you. The flavour is described as Raspberry, blackberry and blackcurrant. Not meaning to be picky but don't blackberries grow in September ie Autumn?? Not to worry, the "summer" fruits taste is exactly how I'd expect it to be. A nice mix of the different fruits with no one flavour being more overbearing than the others. If you have had something that was summer fruits, woodland fruits or orchard fruits flavour before, the taste will be familiar.

The sports cap opens fairly easily and is attached to a regular screw top if you don't like the sports cap function.
The bottle warns you not to re-use the bottle. I read this after refilling it with tap water to take to the gym. I haven't died so I'm sure it's safe, although obviously don't keep re-using the bottle for months on end or bacteria will accumulate and rinse it out before you re-use.
The bottle is recyclable.

Advantages: Water, a nice flavour Disadvantages: drink too much and you may need to keep going to the toilet
...I would certainly recommend.
Perfectly clear water comes in still and sparkling. Personal preference is still, I cannot stand sparkling water.
I brought my bottle from safeways, it was on offer for 65p for a 2 Litre bottle. I think they normally sell for something like £1.15
I brought the Sugar free peach and Mandarin flavour spring water with sweetner which contains Nil Fat - so that is always a bonus. I think also there are a couple of other ... ...bottle with a clear label, perfectly clear written in blue at the top in big letters and 'still' underneath. The bottle is pretty sturdy but I wouldn't try dropping it to find out how sturdy so be warned its not that tough!
It also has a big picture of fresh mandarins and peaches underneath. So nothing really spectacular but it is what is in the bottle which is important. You will normally find this in the drinks aisle in your local supermarket ...

Thanks to Perfectly Clear Spring water this dreadful scenario is now thing of the past in my household.I discovered this product about a year ago whilst I was visiting one of my favourite places for frittering away my money - Hooteys. Those of you that live in the West Midlands probably know where I am talking about to the rest of you it will probably remain a mystery.
So on with the review before you rate this as off topic.

Advantages: able to drink alot in 1 go, filling, tasty (like ribena), no sugar Disadvantages: can drink too much in 1 go! (not good for the bladder)
...on my nose) I discovered Perfectly Clear and have never looked back since. Anyway.....
1. Appearance + Variation Perfectly Clear comes in 2 forms - sports cap bottle, or larger 2l bottle. There are the following flavours: summer fruits, red apple, californian one (not widely doistributed), and an orangey/peachy one - well they're the ones I've come across. If anyone has encountered any others please inform me. Anyhoo, the sports cap bottle holds ... ...past 24hrs, about 3l of Perfectly Clear and I'm still not fed up of it. You see, the sweet taste of the combined fruits makes for a pleasant drink whcih also makes you want more - the sweetness fades after a while and must be replenished. The taste is also not at at all like diluted Robinsons. I admit it's closer to that than boring old water but this taste is in a class of its own. It does take a few drinks to appreciate the taste - on instant consumption ...

...is it?
This is Perfectly Clear Summer Fruits spring water. More widely available is the sparkling variety, that has been available for years. The still one is quite a recent new product on the market. The description on the bottle tells us ''Sugar free raspberry blackberry and blackcurrant flavour spring water with sweeteners''.
What does it look like? What other flavours are there?
This comes in your average clear mineral water style bottle, ... ...the background, with the words Perfectly Clear across the middle with pictures of the mentioned fruits at the bottom. To celebrate that Perfectly Clear is 10 years old, there is a competition advertised at the bottom of the label, on a red coloured panel.
The other flavour I saw in the shop was pech. I am unsure as to wether there are any more flavours to this range as I have not seen it in this shop or anywhere else.
How does it taste?
I have ...

...supermarket when i first spotted perfectly clear .
It was easy to spot even though the bottle is very plain , it was a 2 litre bottle, see through with perfectly clear in blue at the top ,and pictures of blackberrys and raspberrys as i had the summer fruits one.
The summer fruits water tastes of raspberry, blackberry and blackcurrant.
It has a screw on lid.
It also clear to see on the bottle it says its carb free and sugar free.
There is less ... ...fruits
Most supermarkets sell perfectly clear and a lot of newsagents too.
I also found its handy to have in the house if someone is ill and they don,t want tea or coffee or fizzy drinks, this is ideal.
my children will drink this.
Thanks for reading. ...
