Introduction ========= To start with I would like to tell you why I chose to buy this product. Then main reason for my purchase was because I needed to update my GPS technology for my car. Having usually just upgraded my TOM TOM navigation system in the past, this time I fancied trying out something a little different. So I looked around and found that a good distributor of GPS technology was the Performance Products retailer. Even though I had not bought from this company in the past, other buyers assured me that I would get a top notch product. The reason I chose this particular product was because I was looking for the best GPS I could afford. I bought this product for around £350 which is a little out of my usual price range for a GPS but I was still happy to pay extra for a GPS of what I thought was top quality.
Overview =======
This GPS uses the very latest Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) technology to provide street level navigation of the top most quality. This GPS delivers clear and precise voice prompts and alerts you to potential hazardous stretches of roads, accident black spots and even police speed cameras. This last feature was the one that most interested me. I had never owned a GPS of such sophistication in the past and it was most probably this feature that made me choose this GPS in the first place. Also with this product I purchased the mounting kit which was only £20 and I found very easy to set up. The mount kit is also available from Performance Products. And so I come to another great feature of this device, and that is it’s camouflaged. You can leave all of this system in your car and as it is designed to blend in so that thieves will not instantly know that you have a GPS system if they look in on your car from the outside. I also found the maps on this system far more in-depth and easier to read than any other GPS I have seen. With the amount of features and the easy to use feel of this system I cannot recommend this enough. It is true that I was skeptical about switching from TOM-TOM however from now I will always choose Performance Products for all my GPS needs.
Best Feature ==========
The best feature of this GPS in my eyes is the Smart Mute function. The GPS recognizes your speed and if you are under the speed limit and you approach a speed camera ahead or are entering a high risk zone it will just give you a visual alert. However if you are over the speed limit then of course you will receive a full audible alert including a voice warning. This is a feature that I have not used until now on a GPS and found it extremely useful. You can also Program in any site you may have discovered with ease so that you never get caught short in a hazardous area.
Disadvantages ============
I found little to complain about with this system and anything I did find was only minimal. I did find this device was a little chunkier than perhaps I would have liked but because of the wider screen this is unavoidable. Also this device may be a little pricey for some so I would perhaps not recommend this to anyone who is looking to buy a Sat Nav for the first time.

Price ==== I picked up this beauty for around £399, However this was when the product was first released and with a little shopping around you can now get this product for as little as £300.
Final Thoughts ============
This is by far the best Sat Nav I have owned to date and I am extremely happy with my purchase. From what I understand the Hazard warning system on this machine beats all others. Having only used this hazard system however I cannot comment on this, but I certainly had no problems with the Hazard system at all. I will certainly be buying products from Performance Products in the future and cannot recommend this product enough.
Advantages: Looks good. Generally clear and accurate directions. Internal Battery. Disadvantages: Price. Outdated maps.
The Snooper directions are generally accurate but has issues with some postcodes (i.e. sometimes can only resolve AA1 1 rather that AA1 1AA). New roads and road layouts can also cause problem as map is not updated for £5 monthly subscription (only covers Camera Updates) and a new map is around £100.
The recent destinations folder is useful, holding 20-30 places. The redirect to avoid particular areas is also a function I like and use frequently.
... ...at the time).
I also like that the unit has internal power so doesn't need to be plugged into the cigarette lighter socket.
It does not have the 'current limit' displayed as the Snooper S4, which I previously found to be very useful when travelling in unfamiliar places. ...
