About me :
Pro compact, cute, cheap, low insureance, great second car for the family, or 1st car for new drivers!
Cons tinny, feels cheap, image is crap, colours are tacky, dealers spread far and wide!
Road Handling
Fuel consumption

This is .....or should i say was the cheapest car on the road at the end of the 90's and up to 2002.
It ceased production in 2002, and was replaced by a new perodua model.

All nippas are 5 door, 3door models are not an option, this is good consodering it was cheapest new car on road at little over £5500!! There is only 2 specs in the nippas range EX and GX
GX is bout £800 more, but hell you get a lot more, the GX boasts, Sunroof, Radio casttee, alarm, metalic paint, plush wheel trims, as the Ex is as basic as well basic! But Gx is probably just as well equiped as its rivels, and probably has as much as a base model fiat.

Value and second hand values!

Well at £5500 apx new, 2nd hand prices are not expensive
here is a rough guide

97R - £850- £1250
98S - £1050- £1500
99T/V - £1300 - £1600
00W/X- £1950 - £2150
01/Y - £2200 - £2750
02/ 51 - £3000 -£3850

Dont pay over the odds, they are a very cheap car! Great if you want a newish car on little money!

Other cars thet you could think about when considering a Nippa, are Cinqicento's, older fiesta, base model micra, but the be honest if all you want is reliablity and value the nippas is super. However if you want a bit of style and image, maybe a second hand Micra or fiesta might be a better option!

this car carrys very little image if any!
Typical reply when you ask someone if they know of the nippa!
However inrecent years they hav become more popular, the chances are someone has one in your area! But they have been around 6 years now! Image is better than a Lada, but not as good as a ford or Fiat
Image probably on the lines of proton!

Its from Malaysia, and yes its cheap because of cheap labour, non the less an ok car!
Its based on an old Daihatsu car called the DOMINO, which was out in the 80's. The domino was more or less the same, but slightly squarer.
Daihatsu who have a fairly large chunk of the market world wide, being very popular in the far east and japan. There is also quite a few on the road in the UK. Well Daihatsu own 25% of perodua. So basically you are buying a reworked Daihatsi, which are good cars, have a strong repertation for strong steady going cars like the Foretrack and Charade. Another good point in peroduas favour!!

My neighbour owned one for 3 years and he was happy with the level of service perodua offered him. Even when he had a little accident and he needed a curtosy car, it was there! Good level of service, put it this way........he was a happy perodua customer!

The GX model which is what this review is on, is fairly nice! well as nice as basic is! The paint work is metalic, and the silver and purple look quite snazzy really! Ok there not beautiful, but for £5500 apx new- what do you expect? your ahrdly buying a £10,000 PUG here!
Not bad for what it is!
The old saying comes to mind
"You get what you paid for".

YEAH, as far as i know, they are pretty reliable, after all what is there to go wrong? Its a safe bet
Even though if does not have image it has a reliable garantee! perodua carry a reliabllity repurtation, which they have built up.

Overall, not a bad car, worth £2000 for a school runner! bye, hope this was handy and useful!!

One last thing to say...................CHEAP, BASIC, BUT ITS A GOOD MOTOR!

Nice title, and a very informative review. But the car is actually Malaysian made, and in Malaysia it's called Kancil, and yes, where the heck did they get the name Nippa from? Daihatsu co-owned the Perodua with 25% of its share. And the word Perodua actually is an acronym in Malay language which means Second Automobile Manufacturer. Reason for this being Proton is the first. Not a fantastic name again! LoL. Anyway, your review covered everything a buyer needs to know! Cheers, Ant
