cover4life

Advantages: Covers older pets, easy to sort out claims
Disadvantages: slightly more expensive then some others around

...with us I looked into pet insurance. Most insurers were saying about £5-£10 a month and all kind of cover but the down side was that once they got to 8 years and over their cover would end. What was I supposed to do at that point? I saw an advert on television for Petplan which said animals were covered for life. I was really happy and went straight onto their website. It did indeed state that animals were covered for life and so that was the biggest ...

...so I looked and found Tesco was the best offer at the time well I was so glad I took insurance out as 5 week ago she got run over outside my house while we were out and was taken to the local emergency vets and it turned out she had broke her pelvis. She was in the vets for nearly a week had to have a metal plate put in her pelvis and part of her leg removed at the top but he was so worried she would not start weeing but she did but if I did not ...
...the vets it simply takes 2 mins every time you go to fill a claim form in which they send off to Tesco my insurance is 5.82 a month but I well worth any penny it is one of those thins you think you will never use but you do ...

Review of Tesco Pet Insurance

I insured my pussy.

Advantages: A great company to deal with.
Disadvantages: None.

...would take it out with Direct Line. When I took out my pet insurance with them I did so online and it could not have been easier, the website is very clear and simple to use and navigate. In order to avoid the dodgier people amongst us taking out a policy 24 hours or so before we know our animal is going to need an expensive trip to the vets, Direct Line have a 14 day waiting period after you take out your policy. I took my policy out with a £50 ...
...I would pay £50 and Direct Line would cover the other £100. For this policy to cover 1 cat I paid £6.99 per month and this covered my cat up to £2500 in any 12 month period, Direct Line also cover having your pet looked after should you be taken into hospital or become too ill to look after it yourself. This policy that I had also acted as a life insurance policy should the animal be involved in an accident and it also covered lots of other little ...

Review of Direct Line Pet Insurance

Excellent!!!

Advantages: Superb service
Disadvantages: None

Sainsburys have been a life saver, literally in my dogs case! My dog fell ill about a year after i took out the insurance and i was worried as to how they would react to the big claim i initially put in for. My dog has a terminal illness and if it was not for my pet insurance i dont know what i would have done. Sainsburys have been brilliant!! Very understanding, efficient and i have had no problems with the endless claims i have had to make over ...
...sainsburys due to the £6,500 vet fee cover, however i know that since i signed with them they have increased this to £7,500 which is brilliant, especially for the price! I have come across a couple of other insurers with equal coverage, however they are far more expensive! I am very glad i took out my policy with sainsburys and i would definitely recommend them to any pet owner. 1st class service! ...

Review of Sainsbury's Pet Insurance

E&L Pet insurance are rubbish

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Everything - dont bother

My experience has been almost identical - but added to that I have been told only 65% of the claim - excess is covered now. Again I have paid for 3 cats for YEARS and I made a claim in Sept after my cat was seriously ill and I have still not received the cheque (Jan). Emails are ignored - the phone is not answered. My premium increased by 33% when my cat turned 9 and I checked out the rates Vs other insurers and it was competitive BUT little did ...
...of the claim is covered now. THIS WAS NOT HIGHLIGHTED TO ME. When the cheque is received I will cancel. My cat is likely to get this illness again and it is now excluded. WHAT IS THE BLOODY POINT! I have paid more in premiums over the years than the pathetic £600 they are paying towards my claim. ...
