She'd had her own dogs in the past and didn't want anymore. I happended upon this characterful chappy during my time as a Saturday Girl in a pet shop. I was taken by the grizzly fur, cheerful manner, and hardy poise of the dog being given to me as FREE TO GOOD HOME.
Back in 1996 BorderTerriers were relatively few and far between - bred to work to ground. These days they have grown in popularity and have gained much of their fame through the media and advertising - Pets at Home literature, Pedigree Chum, Pot Noodle and Walls Sausages!
These days you can expect to pay anything between £300 and £500 for a pedigree dog and more for the bitch.
Many variations (size, temperament, colour) have been bred into this breed - I now have 2 Borders; the original Dog and subsequently a Bitch. Both are very different in personality but carry the same intrinsic characteristics:

As you might have guessed I wasn?t overly impressed with this book. We bought the ?New OwnersGuideto the Jack Russel Terrier? and ?the New OwnersGuideto The Bichon Frise? books from the same series and the majority of the sections were just exact replicas of the following sections:
