Advantages catchy songs,cool vibe,great band

Disadvantages later albums were bit hit and miss

The pet shop boys are one of the most successful pop duos ever consiting of singer Neil tennant and keyboard player Chris lowe. They first came to prominence in 1986 when there excellent single West end girls topped the charts in both the uk and usa.Its catchy beat coupled with Tennants deadpan vocals made it stand out from the usual music of the time.It was to be a forunner to what was to come as through the next few years with more hit singles and albums the duo would become one of the most successful groups ever.

In a career which has spanned nearly 20 years the pet shop boys have released 8 studio albums and 3 greatest hits packages. There first album Please [1986] Is a mix of catchy beats with terrific lyrics. The singles released from the album West end girls, oppurtunites and loves comes quickly are all excellent.Actually[1987] carries on in a similar style but with a darker edgier feel. The standout track ITS A sin, is full tempo blast of rock mixed with elctro and its epic feel makes it one of the best singles of the 80s.Other songs like rent and divided by zero add to the dark feel of the album though the duet with dusty springfield WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS ,is a pure mix of winning pop.

The groups third album which contains this epic tracks is personally i feel there best.Introspective[1988] features the sublime trevor horn produced left to my own devices which rocks like no other pet shop boy track.Domino dancing and i want a dog are also very catchy.Behaviour [1990] Is the groups most mature and melanchoic album with songs like So hard, jealousy, and my october symphony are reflecting on life and realtionships.Subsquent albums like Very[1993] and Billingual[1996] Though good arent quite in the same class as earlier efforts.A 2001 album Release saw the duo revert away from the techno formula for a more rock oriented album and was pretty good.
