The Early Learning Centre have a range of their own brand toys that they sell for a reasonable price. Generally they are either £5 or £10. They are based on well known game brands that sell for much more.
One of these games is "Pet Vet" which is based on "Operation". You have 4 animals (dog, chick, cat and bunny) that are asleep on the operating table and before you begin the game you set up the animals by putting each of the animal parts into the appropriate animal by loading them into a wheel and you turn it and they are fed into the animals!! - Simple it sounds, but we found that it kept getting jammed and was very tricky.
When loaded, you pick up your white clothed vets sleeve complete with operating tweezers. You take it in turns to remove the body parts. The more you remove the smaller the parts become. Of you hit the sides then you wake up that animal and it makes it's appropriate noise e.g. the cat miaows.
Four adults tried to complete the game but we all found it impossible to do. The children stood no chance, it is a good idea, but the pieces are far too small and fiddley. I took it back and exchanged it for marble run.

What a shame you had to take it back as it sounds like it has the potential to be a good game.
Maybe the manufacturers should look at the design of it, and make it more suitable for the age group.

Sounds a good idea in principle, but obviously needs more work to make it good.
