Advantages: A must-read for football fans and 60s nostalgists Disadvantages: A must-to-avoid for anyone else
...News of the untimely death of PeterOsgood yesterday put me in mind of this review of his autobiography, written three years ago. The review was originally entitled "Born is the...." to echo the song sung in praise of Ossie by Chelsea supporters at Stamford Bridge stadium. I thought of revising the review to make it more of an obituary (and to edit out the bits of it that were about me rather than about him), but somehow it seems more poignant left in its original form. You could say that Osgood was just another over-idolised sports star, but he also exemplified an era, the passing of which is to be regretted, as is the passing of all human experience. And his passing, of course.

Advantages: amusing Disadvantages: too early for an autobiography
...I am and have been for a few years now a massive fan of Peter Kay, ever since first watching ‘live at the top of the tower’ I could never get enough of his stand up. Being a fan of autobiographies in general I was interested when I heard Peter Kay was writing one and after a few subtle hints was able to open this book on Christmas day.

The jobs he describes include but aren’t limited to disk jockey, factory worker, working in a petrol station, working in a warehouse, cardboard crusher, events steward, bingo caller and cinema usher. The book focuses a lot on his times working at these places. This is because these are what have made Peter Kay the person he is, any fan of his know they have certainly...

Advantages: Funny, An enjoyable read Disadvantages: A bit rushed only covers early years
...I recieved this book for christmas and started reading it christmas day and had finished it by new years day. I found the book very very funny.
The book does show where he gets all his storys from, most of them are his life experiences. You can hear Kays voice when reading this if you have ever seen him live or seen his DVDS.
Before i read the book i watch the series he did "That Peter Kay Thing" but didnt realise the storys were all real occurences in his life. Most of the storys in the book are in that series and i found the storys in the book much more amusing as i could imagine him in those situations.
Overall the book is very funny not your regular autobiography and very enjoyable if you like peter kay...
