When Baby B was christened we were bought so many gifts it was amazing to see just how thoughtful and generous people were. Mrs B and I spent a good half an hour opening presents whilst baby B watched on making sure she didn't miss a thing! One of the presents we were bought was this Elmer the elephant gift set and when we opened it both Mrs B and I said "Oh wow!"
What is it?
It is basically a spoon, a cup (with two handles either side), a plate and a bowl with the Elmer the elephant design on all made from plastic so it is ideal for young children.
What does it look like?
Elmer the elephant is a children's story character. Elmer is a big friendly elephant made from patchwork so as you can imagine very colourful! Elmer has big squares of different bright colours all over her body and this makes her stand out ...
Advantages: A short book perfect for bedtimes. Disadvantages: Not a starter reader book.
the elephants seen snow, only hearing talk about it, the book continues on with much snow play until the time comes for them to leave and go back down the mountain.
The moral of this particular story being that whatever is happening to you, there is always a situation that could be much worse, in this case the situation being the fact that the elephants didn?t really know what cold was until they got to the snow, realising this fact the elephants are grateful of the warmth they actually have, and had originally!
This is a lovely little book that my son thoroughly enjoyed, this is not what I would deem as a starter reader book, being far too involved for that, but more a bedtime book as I call them, something for me to share with Connor.

***The Author***
As well as being the author of many Elmer books, David McKee is also the creator Mr Benn and King Rollo, which I'm sure many of the older generation reading this review, will remember.
The first Elmer book was written way back in 1989, the same year that my eldest daughter was born, so I've had many years of reading the stories, first to my older daughters and now to my younger son. This is one of the newer stories and was published in 2004.
***The Story***
In this Elmer book we learn all about tricks. The elephants want to play a trick on Elmer but can't think of anything so they decide to go and ask their friend Snake.
