For me, The Peugeot 206 is the perfect first car. I am an 18 year old male but not what many people would call a "boy racer". Now im going to be slightly biased aiming this at the young, first car market but its such a great little car its suitable for just about anyone.

Ive had my 206 verve for over a year now and nothing has gone wrong with it so far, nothing at all. For a first car, it honestly has everything. Firstly, it is usually assumed that with supposed "small cars" there isnt a lot of room especially for passengers in the back seat. I can irradicate these suggestions as im 6"4 and have had no problems fitting myself and several other rather large friends into the car at once!

The car itself can vary in looks depending on who owns the car and i think that is the beauty of it. Mine, for example, is black with a sport exhaust tip, small peugeot spoiler and alloy wheels and you can tell it is a young person's car because it looks great in the eyes of teenagers (and beyond) But it doesnt have to look that way there are different combinations of colour and additions to the car itself to give it a real personal feel.

Now to the actual driving and im not going to lie but obviously i havent had a lot of driving experience at my young age and don't have a lot to compare it to but i learned to drive in an 08 plate Renault Clio 1.4 and i really liked it. But the Peugeot feels so much smoother in almost every category. It holds the road very well and just generally feels much smoother and more effortless to drive. Bearing in mind how little this car costs, the handling and breaking amongst other things are more than adequate although obviously you get better for your money so it isnt the best out there by any stretch of the imagination.

Economically, because it has a small engine, fuel consumption is very good but the car still remains to feel quite nippy at times although does lack some overtaking power which is to be expected.

There isnt really an awful lot more to say about the car itself as there are really no flaws or drawbacks and it has everything you would expect a small "first car" to have and more. It is comfy, safe, economical, reliable, roomy, practical and CHEAP.
So if you are looking at small cars and no doubt such models as the Vauxhall Corsa and the Citroen C2 (a lot less room) then you honestly can't go wrong with this little gem. Its no speedy ferrari and its no luxurious mercedes but it is itself. Its a Peugeot 206, an allround great fun little car.
