I purchased a secondhand stationwagon (52 plate) from a dealer after weeks of searching. I must say that it's the best car i've ever had. The handling is excellent , you can feel the feedback straight away, and it's not deducted by being the estate version either. The car has remote central locking and an alarm, which isn't standard on all models, so check that yours has. Performance: The 2 litre diesel engine is another boon, lots of low down power and you wouldn't really believe the car only has 90bhp. Acceleration from standing is good and when the turbo kicks in it flies along. 0-60 is around 13 seconds and top speed 113 but it's between 35-80 where the car excels. If you thought that diesels were sluggish think again. Diesel rattle is there at standstill but with the car moving, the noise is nothing that you wouldn't get in a petrol engined car of this standard. Fuel economy: This is good as well, averageing @ 48 mpg, which for motorway and hilly cross country motoring is more than acceptable. The radio has Rds and traffic reports as do most car radios, but the speakers are excellent and produce a nice sound which can get quite loud, if required. The whole thing can be operated by a stalk on the steering column. The boot opens 2 ways either as a whole or just the rear window, which is neat and can even be opened but the key fob remote. The rear door handles are hidden away which is a nice touch. The d-turbo version also comes with alloys and trip computer, alarm, air-con, and cd player, auto wipers, auto lights... along with all safety features ...abs and airbags a plenty. Downsides: Are that the gearbox is bland, there is no feel here, no problems in actually selecting the gear but it feels loose. Also there are no drinks holders and the door pockets are neither useless nor or of any use, as the aren''t deep enough to store cds or wide enough to put a can/bottle in. Insurance: For this car is Group 5/6 and switching from my 7 yr old astra (2.0 16v) was actually cheaper !!. I thought I would miss the performance but it's not the case at all. Servicing and parts are more expensive but not excessive and the car has 10k service intervals anyway.
Overall i'm delighted with my car, so far. and in 2 months covered 3000+ miles.

Advantages: convenient size, good fuel consumption, good design and features Disadvantages: a few niggly warranty issues and problems with peugeot main dealers over such claims
