I was completely shocked to find that not a single person had written a review on this car. It is surely one of the most exciting cars on the market. In fact, very few people appear to have written reviews on cars at all.
Come on folks, get writing about your cars...

The 206CCs main selling point is that it is both a hard-topped coupe, and a topless convertable, and without the annoyance of having a removable, ugly-looking roof. The secret is simple, the roof automatically folds itself up and is stored in the boot. Magic! The procedure takes around 30 seconds, and requires you to simply undo some fasteners and hit a button.
The second beatuiful thing about this car is the price. The only rival for this car in terms of the roof is the Mercedes SLK, which while a little more luxurious, it retails for around £35,000, while the Peugeot starts at under £16,000, and the 2.0 version is only a grand more. There is no wonder there is a 6 month waiting list for this car.
The 206CC comes in all the usual Peugeot colours, but in my opinion, it looks best in silver or electric blue. There are a number of interior colours and schemes to come from, including full leathers, part leather, and all clothe. I personally think that bright blue or red leather looks a little bit too much, but each to their own.
The inside of the car is pretty much the same at the GTI. Its got a lot of plastic, but a few nice chrome effects such as the pedals and gear stick, which just add a little something to it. I would definately recommend any buyers of this car to get as many of the internal extras as possible, to really make this car feel like a sports car. One aspect that makes it feel like a sports car anyway is the back seat area, if you can call it that. There is, in theory, a back seat for 2 extra passengers, but it is really little more than an extra bit of luggage space. Passengers would find the experience most uncomfortable for journeys longer than a few minutes. However, the SLK is only a two seater car itself. Another space issue is found in the boot. A number of reviews of this car have critisized the amount of boot space when the roof is folded into the boot. However, given the fact that you can use the back seats for luggage, and the fact that the boot is actually extremely spacious when the roof is up, I dont think this is a problem at all.
With the 2 litre engine, the 206CC is clearly a drivers car, not just a pretty toy. It is capable of 0-60 in around 9 seconds I believe, which is more than fast enough for most, and the acceleration is excellent in all gears.
All convertibles suffer from problems due to the requirements of a convertible, not least the lack of a permanent roof. The main concern is usually the amount of noise and vibrations. The sound level is pretty good, but the car is not great at all in terms of vibrations. When Channel 4s Driven reviewed this car, it scored one of the lowest marks I have ever seen for drive quality due to the vibrations.
Overall, I like this car. It has been available for a fair few months, and is still massively in demand. It is pretty much impossible to pick one up second hand yet, and any that are available are pretty much at new car prices anyway. I guess a good indication of how good a total package the car is will come in the next few months, when we see if owners of the car are giving them up within the first year or two of ownership, or whether they are holding onto them for dear life.
Despite the negative reviews of some aspects of this car, it still looks great, it has the ingenius roof, and comes at an amazing price. I think Peugeut are going to find demand stays high for this car for a very long time.
Advantages: Look good in it ! Disadvantages: Uncomfortable for long rides.
I have worked my way up to my dream car, the 206cc after having the 106 and 206.
I am extremely pleased. We have moved over to New Zealand for a while and are enjoying the benefits of having a convertible. Here I would recommend this vehicle, however, don't think I'd get much use from it in the UK.
I have an automatic which can still be driven by using the computerised gears. Can be a bit sluggish starting off and doesn't tend to drop down as much ... ...3 when turning a corner when it should be in gear 2, which obviously makes it a bit sluggish. Am used to manual gears and would prefer to have manual in this type of vehicle. If left on automatic, it revs itself up too much and just uses too much fuel.
Roads in New Zealand are very straight (and long) and would be nice to have cruise control. Unfortunately it does not have this feature.
On other reviews it mentions it has very small rear seats. ...

Advantages: Looks great, doesn't look like a convertable with the roof up Disadvantages: Uncomfortable drive, poor performance, poor service from the dealers
I bought my 206cc in May 2002 from an import dealer in Northwich, Cheshire because I fell in love with it the second I saw it. I have never seen another car that is as good looking (in my opinion) as the 206 cc, except for the Mercedes SLK.
I absolutely loved owning and driving it for the first week, the convenience of having a hard top in the rain and a convertable in the sun is truly fantastic. But then the brakes started to squeak. I took it ... ...it's an import I had to provide lots of paperwork and sign loads of documentation, however the brakes were eventually sorted. Within 2 days the brakes started to squeak again, again I took it back to the dealer, had to go through all the paperwork again and then the brakes were fixed. Of course, I demanded an explanation, only to be flippantly told that this was the design!!! A DESIGN!!! I was suppossed to be ok with this? Having just spent £16k ...

Advantages: The Roof, Reliability Disadvantages: Back seats are a joke
...at the moment but again Peugeot has looked this at this twice.
-It's a little heavy on front tires (replaced first set at 18,000 miles)
-The rear seats are beyond a joke, they look like children's seats but you can't actually get a child seat to fit them, Peugeot tell you to fit the child seat on the front passenger seat.
Things I love about the car:
-The roof is so cool, two quick release latches and one button the boot opens up and swallows ... ...past with the 206cc exhaust. Peugeot came back with a quote of £800 plus fitting as they wanted to replace the whole system including the Cat. I was pointed to a 3rd part web site (can't tell you eher as its agains CIAO T&C) but ask and I will let you know, I purchased a sports stainless steel mid section and sports rear box (which in my opinion is superious to the factory fitted one) for £310 inc VAT and delivery. Took myself and a friend 1 hour ...

Advantages: The roof - excellent on sunny days Disadvantages: Leaks
I have owned my Peugeot 206cc 2.0 for eighteen months and so i've had plenty of time to get to know my car. Before i had a 1litre Volkswagen Polo, so i wanted something a bit more stylish and with a bit of a kick. The Peugeot 206cc has delivered that. I started looking for a new car, knowing i wanted a convertable and so i was looking for something attractive and modern but at a decent price. After looking at cars matching my criteria, i found the ... ...out on the market, the Peugeot 206cc still looks stylish. My car is in black and when it's clean, you really notice the lovely curves of the car. The main feature of this car is the folding hard top roof, and it's absolutley great. I love having the roof down on sunny days, it's just a whole new way of driving. The one thing i will say is that it's not uncommon for some roofs to leak (mine does slightly). But I just get on with it, it's worth putting ...

...an 05 plate 2.0 litre Peugeot 206cc. Given I look older, and he didn't check the date of birth on my license, but I am glad as it really was a delight to drive. Room in the back is hugely limited, although for short journeys it would be acceptable, especially considering the type of car. The 2.0litre engine provides a nice amount of power and its a nice nippy car, comfortably leather seats, the roof reclines easily (although I will admit this is ... ...was coming direct from a Peugeot dealer which makes it understandable. To conclude, a very nice car, I know I have said it before but I cannot stress enough how much of a pleasure it was to be in, but one thing would be stopping me from buying one for myself, you would be driving around in your new car, and every one around would look at you and think "looks, hes borrowed his girlfriends/wifes/mothers/aunts car" ...
