Ive had this car for 2 weeks now, and so far it's been great. It cost me £2700 from a small garage with full service history, only 51k miles on the clock, 3 months tax and 8 months MOT. Here's some... more

I have owned a Peugeot 306 GLX Estate for 2 years now and I can honestly say that it is the best all round vehicle I have ever driven. In my opinion not only does it look good but it performs well to. Although my car is the petrol version I still comfortably manage 38 mpg whilst retaining an extremely responsive 1.8 litre engine. The car comes with all the mod cons as standard including ABS, Airbags, Power Steering, Sun Roof, Electric windows and mirrors, digital mile and trip meter and automatic window wipers to name but a few. The car has an impressive amount of room in the boot, more than ... more

Ive had this car for 2 weeks now, and so far it's been great. It cost me £2700 from a small garage with full service history, only 51k miles on the clock, 3 months tax and 8 months MOT. Here's some basic info about my car... --S Reg (registered 31/12/1998)-- --1.8i 16v petrol engine (112bhp)-- --Metallic Gold (aka Blaze Yellow) paint-- --3 Door Hatchback-- --Tape player, radio, and 6 cd changer-- --Electric windows, A/C, Remote Central locking + much more-- So far i havent experienced any problems with the car. Although the drivers electric window is slighty jerky. I think the car is great for ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap insurance, great handling and ride.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some expensive parts, heats up quickly.

OK so I'm a bit of a Peugeot fan, I had a 205 Style for 4 years and my parents both own 306s (they do look a bit silly when all parked together - daddy car, mummy car & baby car!). I bought the 306 XS 1.8 (petrol) 1 year ago, S-reg, gold (!), second hand with 60,000 miles on the clock for just under £4000. *Looks* I think it looks good, even in gold! Mine is an S reg so it has the newer 306 styling (a rounder nose and rear). It comes with alloy wheels. I've got the 3 door version so it's not really a family mobile, but it's got loads of room for 2 with a good-sized boot. You can just about ... more

Advantages Advantages Great roadholding, handling. Cheap insurance.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Uninspiring performance

I have been a fan of Peugeots since I bought a humble 205 6 years ago and I'm now driving a lovely 306XS. The best part of this car and other 306s for that matter is the superb roadholding and handling of the car. However, for a sports car I think the performance from its multipoint injection engine is not quite up to scratch. Acceleration is below that of a Golf GTi but the sheer driveability makes up for this shortfall. Equipment is pretty good with alloys, remote central locking, electrics, remote stereo, pas and drivers airbag. Inside room is superb and the views are excellent with ... more

Advantages Advantages Low insurnace group, alot for your £$

Disadvantages Disadvantages No longer on the NEW market

The 306 was, and still is, a great car, despite now being replaced by the 307. Indeed the 306 is far more aesthetically pleasing than the 307. Most 306 outlets, prior to the launch of the 307, threw in many added features for little added cost, thus making the car a gem for the 10K market. The 306 ended on a Y plate and it is quite possible to get one on today's market ind the region of £7,000K. The latter 306 models all came with powersteering as standard and benefitted from the added kick of 16 valves. Meanwhile, the interior was boosted by a tidy and comfortable leather trim, and the added ... more
